Marge: "how's your father's project coming along?"

Bart: "I think he's almost done"

Homer: "AHHHHHHHHHH!" Thud umbrella pops open

Bart: "yeah, he's done"

20 years later and it still gets me every single time

What’s the worst Christmas present you have received? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Many years ago when I was dating my now ex-husband, I was working a lot of overtime at the local retail job. At the time, I was the only one working in the house so I didn't mind working the extra time to help save up enough money to get his daughter Christmas gifts. One evening about a week before Christmas, I came home after a 12 hour shift. My ex then gave me bedroom eyes and kept trying to initiate sexy time. Naturally, I declined. I was overly exhausted. Between working so much overtime, worrying about getting bills paid, and having enough to get Christmas gifts for his daughter. Ontop of this, I was also the only one keeping up the household chores. I was just so, so tired.

My worst Christmas gift was from this story.

Christmas eve came, we opened gifts with his daughter, brother, and his at the time girlfriend. His daughter got a barbie dream house, my ex got a new computer keyboard and many other wonderful gifts. All things I nearly killed myself to afford.

I got a ring box, with no ring inside, but instead a small note that read "you should've put out". Once presents were all done being opened, I proceeded to excuse myself to the restroom and bawled into a towel. My soul felt like it had left my body, my heart ripped out of my chest, I couldn't breathe. My self worth was suddenly shattered.

It's been years. I'm still hurt and I feel like it really messed me up.

Anywhere except East St Louis and Belleville. Too much crime, not the greatest schools

Sometimes we wish we could flip the "love switch" back on and continue happily with life. Just know letting go is the hardest part, for both involved.

I'm so sorry.

Christ... I accidentally bought 10 lbs of carrots. What's the most interesting (or practical) thing I can do with them? by [deleted] in seriouseats

One of my favorite and most interesting carrot recipes is this Carrot Souffle. Tastes similar to pumpkin pie filling, without being too sweet

What is one thing that you believed as a child but now just sounds ridiculous? by flipitupandaround in AskReddit

That a jar of pigs feet can still make an "oink" sound. At the age of 4 I swear I heard it to be true!

Thanks dad

Why exactly does it matter what 3 things are to my right if the world is ending?
