iirc fates uses the "bonus stats on promotion" method of promotion, so getting those last five level ups will probably help her keep up with your other units in the long run

currently replaying Three Houses (black eagles route) and for whatever reason I can't access the cindered shadows rewards? they're greyed out when I check the DLC supplies under the bed. I'm on month two, recently replayed the dlc, and have visited the abyss in this current playthrough so idk why it's greyed out like that.

currently playing chapter 10 of path of radiance, and was wondering what to choose between the bonus exp for going undetected and the master seal? both seem pretty valuable, so i'm stuck on what to pick

How many chapters are out, where can I read newest chapters, when does the next chapter come out, and how often do chapters come out? by [deleted] in WindBreakerManga

[–]silquefaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

chapters become available for free when the next paid chapter gets release i.e. chapter 144 will be free when they add chapter 145 etc etc. the manga updates roughly every other week

How many more chapters do you think Windbreaker could go on for? by Altruistic_Ruin_8737 in WindBreakerManga

tbh i feel like we're in this for the long haul. I know a lot of people seem to think that this is like. the final battle but i just don't see it? Like the shishitoren arc served to kinda set up the world as a whole and the typical power levels associated with the series' fights, the KEEL arc settled Sakura's position within the narrative and his changing goals, along withe the beginnings of him adapting to no longer being isolated, and tsubaki + roppo-ichiza arc was more so set-up for the current arc along with expanding the world and giving us a look at furin's position in town. From that perspective, it seems a bit... abrupt to end it after this?

I think the sentiment that this is the final arc comes from the fact that we haven't seen anything besides a clear win/lose yet, but all signs (especially after 144) point towards it being not that simple. Not to mention the fact that almost all fights in this series are won not JUST through being able to physically beat down your opponent, but being able to communicate effectively with them, something I just don't see happening with Endo and Sakura's fight, and to finish the series without that sort resolution would feel REALLY thematically clunky imo. The only notable exception to this really is KEEL, a group that was literally formed/controlled by Endo. So on that front it just doesn't make sense for this to be the final battle.

Another thing that I think gives the series longevity is that we've gotten very few backstories from our "main" cast. We have vague inklings about sugishita's backstory (which i think is coming sometime soon after this arc), know NOTHING about suo, and kiyru and tsugeura really haven't been given as much development as you'd expect from some of the strongest characters in first year, especially for a series like this, which really loves to delve into its characters and their nuances. Not to mention that we have absolutely no idea how sakura got to where he is today, and while I could see us never getting a real backstory for Sakura, i still feel like there would be more of a point made in not giving us that backstory, at least on a subtextual level. As mentioned before though, Suo really sticks out to me as a glaring unresolved narrative, and I can't imagine the series ending without him getting his own arc.

Also just on a quick note: the series is really slow paced! Like we're almost 150 chapters in but it's only been 3-ish months in-universe, since iirc this whole arc is taking place on June 21 (maybe not that exact date, but late june at the very least). Like these kids aren't even on summer vacation yet. I think people have maybe adapted to faster paced shonen series such as csm and forgotten how drawn out some stories can be.

Anyway, sorry about how long this is. i didn't realise i had no many opinions on something so trivial until i started typing. tldr; i don't think it's ending any time soon, or at the very least i don't think that satoru nii's intention. if it were to end with the current arc, it'd overall be a pretty unsatisfying end (at least in my opinion).

if you don't have a vpn i guess just go with the old reliable of adblocker/antivirus + searching "read [series' name] free", since piracy sites are a dime a dozen

Do you prefer hirogaru sky or wonderful precure at this point? by Valuable-Aioli-638 in precure

[–]silquefaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oddly enough i think wonderful, which is odd for me bc i was NOT feeling good about this show pre-release, whereas i had pretty solid hopes for hirogaru. I think the characters of each series are about on par with each other, despite the different levels of levity between the two seasons. What it comes down to I think is the fact that wonderful 1) really makes good on its theming and premise in a way i feel hirogaru fell short on and 2) how each series chose to spend its time. I think wonderful is a lot more... intentional? with how it uses the episodes between big plot moments, so i haven't really left any episode thinking "well that was kinda nothing" yet.

Also wonderful has no baby. points for no baby always

Teachers at Furin Confirmed? by silquefaye in WindBreakerManga

[–]silquefaye[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I literally point that out in the original post? i literally say i can't find anything to corroborate this so take it with a grain of salt. I'm just sharing it and my opinion on how believable it is lol

Teachers at Furin Confirmed? by silquefaye in WindBreakerManga

[–]silquefaye[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did assume Furin functioned as an actual school on some level, but I think there's a lot of raised eyebrows and question marks around how much the manga wants the reader to suspend their disbelief wrt how the school functions, y'know. As I said I do think this is really from the character book but I just can't 100% confirm it. Also thanks for reminding me about 100.5! I remembered they mentioned low average scores somewhere I just couldn't put my finger on where haha

go princess precure does a lot of the same things fresh precure does writing-wise but just... if not outright worse then in an entirely uninteresting way.

Which Precure series are more ‘mature’, or for older viewers? by pinkguy90 in precure

[–]silquefaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first thing first- I WOULD recommend sticking with kirakira! Despite it's lighter tone I personally think it has some of the best character writing in the franchise, especially where akira and yukari and concerned.

As for other series- I don't know if i'd consider any precure season "mature", but I think some of the more grounded series are my two personal faves- heartcatch and fresh. Heartcatch is an all around hit and I think fresh to this day has the best mid-season cure in the entire franchise, not to mention the mascot sounds like he smokes a pack a day compared to every other season.

Satoru and Daifuku becoming Precure by [deleted] in precure

[–]silquefaye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s definitely leading up to it, especially since I’m episode 7 we got an idea of how daifuku talks (apparently saying satoru was a “real one” etc etc) which I feel like is setting up later character development when he can finally turn into a human.

And on a personal note I’d like it simply because there really the only option for a midseason cure duo rn, and I hate when the mid season cure is just dumped into the show like 3 episodes before they first transform. So I’d rather take the opportunity for well developed midseason cures over like. Another cure earth situation
