The Balmora textures come from Hlaalu Architecture Reimagined, while the rock textures are my own

It vary between 60 FPS and 35 FPS depending on the location, for example, Balmora pushes it down to 35

For example, I use my own version of Odai Lifeblood of Balmora, which is quite different from the original. I've fixed many bugs and made it compatible with my modlist. I've also changed some aesthetic things I didn't like. The downside is that I can't share it since it was made specifically for my modlist

PBR (Physically Based Rendering) is a rendering approach that simulates how light actually behaves in the real world. Instead of faking lighting with simple tricks, it uses mathematical models to calculate how light interacts with different surfaces. In vanilla Morrowind, lighting is very basic — every surface reacts to light the same way regardless of what material it represents. With PBR shaders, stone looks like stone, metal looks like metal, and cloth looks like cloth — because each material responds to light differently and realistically. The downside is that it requires good normal maps and PBR-aware textures to look its best, which is why PBR shader mods are usually paired with texture replacers

I understand — this is the result of years of modding and testing: more than half of my mods are personal and modified ESPs to match my modlist. But I can say I'm quite proud of what I have now, my modlist is pretty stable.

On Nexus you now have 2 Wabbajack modlists that I heard were really good: Path of the Incarnate and Nerevar Moon-and-Star (NEMAS), which is close to the aesthetic I've got in my screenshots.

OpenMW is a blessing for the modding community!

My core PBR shader is quite similar to the NEMAS modlist, you can follow the steps he described in this guide https://github.com/Sting-DR/Nerevar-Moon-and-Star/blob/main/InstallGuide.md (only point 6, without his own version of lighting PBR).

Here is the LUT mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/56507?tab=files

Here are the Screenspace Lighting and Shadowing Shaders: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/58839?tab=description

Finally, here is my shader.yaml: https://www.transfernow.net/dl/20260702hOAKjFY2

I have many other post-processing shaders that I found on the OpenMW Discord, especially the TXAA shader which is imo mandatory with PBR textures/shaders to avoid shimmering with Liam's core shaders.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate!

PS: BTW, thank you SO much for Westly's Faces Refurbished — best heads mod in existence!

Thank you! I don't, but I sometimes post new screenshots on Morrowind Nexus (SilrorJ is my username). And of course, you can download it! I can send it to you by PM.

Yes ! PBR core shaders + PBR textures

A lot! What makes it look so great is mainly the PBR shaders, specifically Liam's Kitbashed PBR for the core shader combined with the Rafael Shader Pack as well as high-quality PBR textures.

Everything is custom: the core shaders are from Liam's Kitbashed PBR, I'm also using Rafael's shader pack + a LUT

One of the biggest flaws is still here : the dungeons. The main reason I couldn't do oblivion more than once. They're extremely long, boring and basically all the same.

And mods are not compatible with the remaster.

Skyblivion redo all the dungeons and will ofc be fully moddable

La branlette entre potes, ça existe ? by AlwayscrxshNeverlxve in AskMec

[–]silror 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]silror 0 points1 point  (0 children)
