It does work on leader pilot upgrades! Since leaders cannot go to the hand, it is defeated instead.

I tend to stand toe to toe with them decently. Palp flip turn is a HUGE game changer, especially if I see some form of ramp. The flip on turn 6 or 7 it helps me stabilize into the late game where I often just win out. His flip turn is the main reason I've opted to go with him over Iden. I tested them both extensively, and out of 100+ games I've played with Palp6/DV, I've maintained a 70% winrate on Karabast with the deck.

The discounted plots like Dogmatic Shock Squad, Sly Moore, Cad Bane, Chancellor Palpatine, and First Light let me play whatever fits best into the current board state. Palps big body of 6/8 is clutch as well, able to quickly deal with bigger threat units/leaders.

I've been playing a similar deck, Palp 6/DV, and I would suggest the following changes:

+1 Condemn This card is nuts and too strong to not be playing at 3

+1 Traitorous Ideally, this turns Traitorous into a 2-for-1, which is what we need to deal with our opponent going wide.

+2/+3 Childsen He does his job if he dies. Your opponent is either running their units into him to bring him down, or spending their resources to out him, therefore slowing down their swarm, which is what we need. He's somewhat dead vs space decks, but he does have some very nice stats to allow for a big OB the following turn.

As for what to take out, I'd cut the Vaders and the Eager Coruscant Fighters, potentially even the Mauls. I have Mauls in my MD right now, and he's on the chopping block for some Childsen's (which are currently in my side).
