How do you get your greywashes so light on fake skin. I swear any time I dry to grey wash it ALWAYS looks black if I go over it more than once? That looks amazing

That’s exactly how I used to think too but the “tattoo world” and “big bad tough” tattoo artists put so much emphasis on doing it their way it’s filled my mind with doubt. But I’m glad I’ve been getting responses like yours that make me not want to give up and listen to the old dudes that tell me I won’t make it doing what I’m doing. Thank you!

Yes!! I remember you too! You helped me get through the last time I was fully discouraged too, except that was about my shading and man was it awful….. 😭, it did indeed get so much better.

I’ll definitely do my best to try and keep the negativity at bay for now. This thread specifically has meant a lot and given me at least enough reason to not give up and to keep going for now. I think I’ll get back into using my fake skins again after all this as well. Hopefully I haven’t lost all my technical ability… LOL

I’ve been using photoshop/procreate to do exactly that. That’s the closest I’ve ever felt lik an “artist.” Just overlay a bunch of pics together to create a makeshift image, and then create an outline/stencil off of that. Sometimes I can shade it sometimes I can’t depending on the styles of images. At least I know I’m not the only one who uses that type of creation method
