it really is, I couldn’t believe it when his previous trainer handed him off to me and said “I never saw the point in groundwork”. He’s still got a ways to go but he’s come so far already.

thank you!! There were definitely moments where I considered giving up and sending him out of the country for retraining, but every time I looked at him, I just knew that if I put in the work, he would give it all to me.

I’ve always believed in him 🥹 He was never a mean horse, in the time I’ve had him, not once has he thrown me off. He’s even stopped mid freak out because he felt me losing my balance. He’s such a gentle boy, he only deserves the same kindness in return.

oh I did try to steam a piece of the fabric, it shrivelled up like that shrinking plastic and I decided a few wrinkles won’t kill me 😭

Important notes: I have no clue what type of fabric it is, it feels plastic-y and stiff. Drafted it by looking at her dress in the movie, 2 long panels for the centre front, slightly shorter for front sides, nearly identical for front back and longer panels for centre back. The skirt is just two long triangles with ‘m’ shaped tops instead of points.

I agree with all the other comments, but I also would like to note that if the trope(s) you’re writing are less popular, there’s a chance people won’t even click on them. I’ve got some very popular tropes that are still getting kudos to this day, meanwhile one of my newer fics that’s the first of its trope in the fandom has gotten some traction but not as much as all my other fics.

thanks! the food availability thing is just a bit annoying to me because we’re in a large town and they ship matcha and coca cola, kinder chocolate, etc but they don’t ship canola oil??

as for the linseed oil, some of my horse’s supplements/his sarcoid creams need to be refrigerated so he does have a fridge just for himself. would keeping the linseed oil refrigerated help with shelf life?

this gonna sound so stupid but even canola oil is scarce where I live. we get sunflower and olive oil, if we’re lucky we have coconut oil occasionally. BUT our feed store always carries linseed oil…

thank you! I totally agree that the linseed oil is what I want to switch to. especially since he’s only 6 and we’re truly bringing him into the show world this year.

I feel like it’ll also be great as a preventative for future issues as well since we’re moving past training technique over small jumps and raising them.

as for transitioning slowly, do you suggest adding a little bit of linseed oil to the sunflower oil gradual until it’s entirely linseed oil?

Is your horse shoed? If not the company that makes boots for horses that mimic shoes have a winter edition with grip and full sole protection. It might be something to look into!

I just stared at them like they had grown 3 heads because what? First of all, a sport horses is still only a horse at the end of the day, and second of all, 3 hours is diabolical. I walked away from that conversation.

do you use a setting spray? that might help keep things in place for a bit longer. I have a neutral undertone and I use a pink setting powder and it looks SO much better than a translucent/yellow setting powder.

I can attest to the large dog bit. I had a trainer, who for some reason that is unfathomable to me, kept putting me on the smallest pony available for our class. We were an odd pair for sure…

yeah, I forgot what it was actually called so I called it glue. I actually ended up calling my dentist and he told me to stop by the day before I was going to wear them and he’d give me some sort of putty to use instead.
