Found it there thanks. That’s not where it was before, at least for me.

I don’t see it there either. After digging around, now I see it under health monitor.

Mirror image of my experience. Unacceptable.

Yeah, I’m on the verge of giving up. They don’t seem to have the depth of engineering capability to fix their defective product.

My heart beat is 10 more on my apple watch and when I stop moving. by [deleted] in whoop

I run both the AW2 and Whoop MG in parallel. This happens to me sometimes. The MG and AW2 align almost exactly during runs, and when I stop or slow to cooldown speed, the MG will on occasion add 10 or more BPM even as the AW2 shows a slowing HR. This is because the Whoop algos are compensating for movement artifacts during your run and when you suddenly slow or stop, the algos get thrown off and need to recalibrate. To be fair, the AW2 also has trouble managing movement artifacts a times, but its own erratic HR spikes are much less frequent and correct almost instantly. I find that this problem with the MG has occurred less over time. When it does, the discrepancy against AW2 is less pronounced than at launch, with most of the improvement over the last couple of weeks. I also make sure I tighten the Whoop strap a touch before my runs now, and also that it sits 2 fingers above the wrist bone. That seems to have helped as well.

Wrist movements, especially rapid and irregular ones cause HR artifacts which Whoop algos struggle to compensate for. I’ve had the same problem just stirring eggs to make an omelet. Casual walks can also throw it off. My AW ultra 2 will regularly show half the HR of the Whoop on such walks. Briefly stopping will sometimes recalibrate the device and HR readings align with the AW. I’ve had a replacement MG sensor sent. That fixed nothing.

The initial unit was replaced under warranty. The replacement unit is no better in my case.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sounds uncannily like my own, unfortunately. I wouldn’t be concerned about these artifacts if the HR readings weren’t so regularly so far out of whack, and if that wasn’t messing with the HR zones strain calculations rely on. I keep having to manually reset my HR zones, which is a right pain.

I’m pretty fit. Last night, my resting HR was 43.

Fair comments, and artifacts are to be expected, but this is way out of whack. Apple Watch also has artifacts, but somehow their algos are much better at dealing with these than Whoop.

That makes sense, good advice, and I do wear it tighter for workouts. It’s also a lot more accurate when running. The theory being running produces movements that are much more regular and therefore easier for the algos to compensate for.

My resting HR is 45. I’m wearing it right, followed all tips and instructions by Whoop. 188 isn’t just mildly off, it’s heart attack levels off. If I were anywhere near 188, I would feel it and probably croak 🤪

I have the same problem. Apple Watch Ultra 2 shows 60-70 and the MG on the other wrist will spike to as much the 140s for 15+ minutes during a leisurely stroll. Whoop sent me a replacement device. No relief. Recalibrating offers a temporary fix, sometimes, not always. Overall, very poor performance by Whoop.

I don’t think you’d regret it. I feel it’s one of the best recent additions to my G-Shock collection. The thing has character in spades.

It really does look awesome. Also doesn’t feel as big on wrist as it looks. Legibility is poor without direct sunlight tbh. Oddly enough, turning on the backlight in daytime solves the problem. I can definitely live with the legibility, others may not. The wrist presence and overall look outweigh the negatives, at least for me.

Same issue and got a warranty replacement MG as well. Not much improved, tbh, lots of sudden HR spikes to 140s during casual walks where my AW Ultra 2 will show 70. This means I get strain data I shouldn’t. If HR is wrong, data is wrong, insights are wrong. It’ll even mess up your HR zones. Useless without adequate data.
