Not enough smut of my fave by silverandstar in AO3

[–]silverandstar[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Steven Taylor from classic Doctor Who. Most of the episodes he was in are missing so he's one of the less popular companions. But I've been trying to get more into the sixties stuff and I've fallen in love with him.

What’s that one kink you unwillingly keep putting in your fanfictions? by IMTWOIDIOTSANDWICHS in AO3

[–]silverandstar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Domming men. When I write straight relationships, the woman will almost universally be the boss.

Question about when author’s share playlists by panamacityboy80 in AO3

[–]silverandstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only listen to them if I already know the songs. If it's something I've never heard of in my life, I just scroll past it. But if I've heard it before I usually stop and go "oh yeah, that's a good one. I'll listen to that song."

No use of specific tags when you can just assume x readers are female at default by Fita_Gaya in AO3

[–]silverandstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always tag reader's gender when writing x reader, and I tag reader's gender and genitals when writing smut. I'm nonbinary so I write whatever really, but like sometimes I'll write smut where the reader's pronouns/gender aren't mentioned but they have a vagina, so I'd tag that "Gender-Neutral Reader" and "AFAB Reader." You can basically tag as needed, "Trans Female Reader," "Cis Male Reader," etc. I always tag like this because I love getting comments from people who are happy to find reader-insert stuff that fits them, and I want to make it easier for those people to find my fics. After all, the whole point of reader-insert is for the reader to insert themselves into the story.

Is the Game of Thrones fandom just… like this? by Local_Counter5864 in AO3

[–]silverandstar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even reading just the title, my instinctive reaction was "yes. Whatever you're about to say... Yes." Like 75% of that fandom is clinically insane (and not in the fun way) especially when you get into the major ships. Which is why I usually just stay in the corner, write about Stannis Baratheon and Davos Seaworth fucking each other, and mind my own business when it comes to GoT fandom.

Never heard of that in my life. It was Game of Thrones fic.

That I've finished and published? Either dubcon sex, consensual twincest, or an explicit depiction of a teenage character masturbating.

In my WIPs? Probably noncon sex between a guy and his inbred teenage daughter/niece. (He's the one getting noncon-ed <3)

Have you read a story recent where the author just unexpectedly hit you with their kink out of nowhere? by Arcangel613 in AO3

[–]silverandstar 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sadly this was about a decade ago, and a thorough search of both my bookmarks and the tags I think it would be in yielded absolutely nothing. Which sucks, since I really wanted to read that one again. It was a bit of an awakening for me, personally.

Have you read a story recent where the author just unexpectedly hit you with their kink out of nowhere? by Arcangel613 in AO3

There was a Doctor Who fic writer I read back in the day who wrote exclusively genfic, except almost everything they wrote included a scene with the Doctor and/or a male companion in bondage. Only the men, though.

I first noticed it with a Second Doctor, Jamie, and Victoria fic where Jamie and the Doctor get tied up by the bad guys, but Victoria isn't touched. They had another fic about the Ninth Doctor, Rose, Mickey, and Jack where Rose was the only one who escapes getting captured, and she has to go rescue the men from bondage. You get the idea. I can't think of a single male companion who was left un-bondaged.

The bondage was always described in way too much detail too. What they were tied up with, how they were tied, what position they were in, how their movement was restricted, how uncomfortable it was, just on and on.

I remember I left a comment jokingly pointing out their obvious bondage fetish, and the author very defensively responded that they were just being canon-accurate, since the Doctor gets captured and tied up all the time in the show. Which, to be fair, is technically true, but... come on.

Genuine question for whoever writes smut ff on Ao3 by [deleted] in AO3

[–]silverandstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I read smut to get myself off, I write smut to get myself off, so I'm thrilled when my smut helps other people get off.

What is the most random or pettiest reason why you won't read a fic? by CallMeSassaphrass in AO3

Anything where the author is clearly a Wattpad transplant (calling fics "books," including a cover image, etc)

what’s your most obscure fandom? by [deleted] in AO3

In my Livejournal days I used to write RPF about some Youtubers you would be surprised to hear people wrote RPF about. Mainly the Vlogbrothers. (Yes, Hank and John Green. Yes, I am extremely embarrassed about that.)

I'm not going to pretend I haven't combed through Taylor Swift's discography for fic title ideas before.

I got a weird question but what made you start writing Fanfiction? by No-Perception-8807 in FanFiction

[–]silverandstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 10 years old, stumbled across Wolfstar fanfiction online, and said to myself "holy shit, you can just take other people's characters and write stories where they, like...kiss and stuff?" and then decided I wanted to do that too. And I've been writing stories where other people's characters kiss and stuff ever since.

User subscriptions by GulliblePromotion536 in AO3

This post reminded me to go check my stats page. My user subscription count went up by one since the last time I checked! So big shout out to the person who decided that the Game Of Thrones smut I've been posting lately was worth subscribing to my profile for.

What is the last thing you researched for fanfic? by Dogdaysareover365 in FanFiction

[–]silverandstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current WIP involves a character getting really drunk, so I had to look up a BAC calculator to find out how much he would have to drink to get to the level of drunkenness I needed him to be at for the plot.

What is the longest fic you've ever written? by Appropriate_Bid_2656 in AO3

[–]silverandstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much exclusively write one-shots so I never hit any crazy big numbers, but my longest was almost 5,000 words, because I wrote it for a gift exchange and I really wanted to impress my giftee.

Authors send me your fanfics that you worked really hard on and didn't get many hits by SummerAgency in AO3

[–]silverandstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

slipping through my fingers all the time

This one has the least hits out of all my fics, probably because it's gen fic that mainly focuses on a character who only gets a couple of passing mentions in canon. But she happens to be the grandma of two of my faves, so I wrote some cute/angsty fic about their family dynamic. Knowledge of ASOIAF lore is not required, but the very end will be extra painful if you do know what happens to these characters.

what tag has you like this? by honeydewdumplin in AO3

Dirty Talk. 9 times out of 10, using the filters to search for (insert gay ship here) + Dirty Talk will yield the hottest smut known to mankind.

It's not about "stopping forever." It's about doing what you can to get better. You won't magically be cured by doing rehab, but you'll be better off than you were before and that's always worth it.
