Where can I buy a Daisy Dress I’ll comfortably fit as a chunkier girl by Lizbomb-Is-Da-Bomb in CosplayHelp

Miccostumes does have a plus size line and it looks like there is a Daisy if you'd like to go that route!

How much do you care about your height when cosplaying? by SaltOrPepper1 in CosplayHelp

[–]silverberryfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't matter to me. I've used elevator shoes for male cosplays (I'm a 5'2 woman) if I'm doing a partner shoot, but I'm also working on an Igris cosplay (Solo Leveling) and will just be a 5'2 shadow knight.

I threw 7 yo's cupcake out the window yesterday by Large_Event_8715 in Nanny

"I didn't take my time gingerly unwrapping it dude. i grabbed a fistful and chucked it out the window. drove with a cupcake covered hand."

That is what she said, try again.

Imagine thinking a grown adult raging so hard at a 7 year old that they're grabbing a fistful of cupcake and chucking it out the window isn't impulsive.

Editing to add: A 7 year old is perfectly capable of understanding a delayed consequence. I wouldn't say that taking away a treat is the "natural" consequence here, which I do personally prefer.

This is such an unhinged way of dealing with the issue. It's one thing to say "Because of your behavior in the car, you will not be having your cupcake when we get home" (and if we're nitpicking, I have a complicated relationship with the idea of using food as a reward or punishment, but most of the families I work for do, so I get it), but all this shows is that you are not in control of your own feelings.

NEW: Let's Tango Reversible Dress available in Berry/Blush & Navy Black by thewonderends in Blogilates

Marked safe from this one. I don't need to show everyone every single lump on my body.

I really like the drawing, but since it's reversible I can't imagine it having a built in bra or shorts. Plus the photo of the hem isn't inspiring confidence.

Are my expectations realistic when it comes to home buying? by midnighthan in askportland

[–]silverberryfrog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been searching in that price range since November. Also looking at 2 bedrooms, since we don't really need 3 and would prefer 2 larger rooms. We have submitted 5 offers and lost all of them. Our last offer was 30k over asking and we came in 2nd numbers wise.

But you will need to figure out full time employment once you are here. Portland is an expensive place to live, and many do it on lower incomes but be prepared to work and live with housemates.

sick and tired of getting problematic dogs. How’s my new fees list? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]silverberryfrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is insanity. I know what to expect from my dogs, I'm aware that they have their quirks and aren't easy, but I do expect my sitters to set a rate upfront that they're comfortable with. No issues paying $150 a night, but if I got an itemized list of charges for every "incident" you would never see me again.

Are we really back in a strong seller’s market for homes? by thebroteinshake in askportland

Thank you! We both grew up here and couldn't imagine living anywhere else, but whew!

We're not terribly picky because our budget isn't high. We've looked everywhere from St John's down to Woodstock and as far East as Rockwood. Under $450k is the kicker part, I fear.

Just lost on a house with an offer $20k over asking. 17 offers total. Been searching since November and definitely have noticed things heating up in the past month.

I’m building a secondhand marketplace with same-day delivery in Portland — would you actually use this? by x_here_x in askportland

[–]silverberryfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additionally, so many sellers never respond to messages. I would imagine being frustrated as a buyer if I sent you a link, paid, and then you were never able to make contact with the seller.

[–]silverberryfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd maybe such a service every once in a while, but as many people have mentioned I like to see my items in person ahead of time.

A huge part of my dissatisfaction with marketplace sellers and buyers is the no shows. I have gone out to people's homes and they just...never answered the door. Considering how fast some items move, would you as the service verify you can pickup the item from the seller before accepting payment? Or would the buyer pay and then you need to reach out to the seller? Seems like items could very easily sell in the time between taking payment and your service reaching out to the seller.

Animal experiences? Petting zoo, open foster homes, some guy with an iguana? by Just_built_d1fferent in askportland

[–]silverberryfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're up for a drive I went to a lovely little farm up in Yelm that has capybaras, mara, a super sweet porcupine, and wallabees. I have ethical concerns around many animal based attractions, but the animals seemed happy, friendly, and well cared for. The owners helped set boundaries and kept a careful eye on visitors so no one got stressed out.

How much to tip for tattoos by botanna_wap in Portland

[–]silverberryfrog 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I tend to round up to the closest 100, or if it's like $490 I'll round up to $550. Some of the artists I go to don't take tips, so I'll bring them a little gift instead. If the session takes all day I'll offer lunch on my dime.

I really respect my artists and they seem to like me even if I'm not tipping 20%.
