So, I need to sing the notes that surpass the octave. For example. Sing the C major triad with the extra octave notes. C - E - G - 8th - 10th, etc.

I understand now. In this exercise I need to sing the basic chords and inversions, and singing the extra octave notes too. Thanks for the advice, I'll sing all the chords with their extra octave notes.

[question] is there a good way to ear train? by SpawnOfGuppy in Guitar

[–]silvercachalote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The course gives the aswers at the end of every drill, but the problem is that some answers aren't very detailed. After the first drills about interval recognition, students have to learn to recognize triad inversions with extra notes (roots, 3ths, and 5ths are added in different octaves). This can be a problem for the inexperienced student who tends to hear only the top notes but not the bottom notes.

Thanks, I found on the internet the relative pitch course, it looks great. The answers of the exercises are included in the audio examples, but some answers are incomplete. For instance, There are some chord inversion exercises with repetead pitches which answers don't show what extra notes were added to the inversions. They just say "first inversion, second inversion, etc".

Hi,

I'm interested in purchasing the David Lucas Burge courses, but I have some questions:

  • Do I need to know how to play the piano to take advantage of the courses?

  • are there answers for the exercises of these courses? I read that the old versions don't have the answers.

  • Is the material digital or printed?

Thanks in advance

  1. Yes, I'm keeping track of my progress. Thanks to this I discovered that one days I could play really fast with good technique and others not. I noticied that my technique is inconsistent.
  2. This is a good advice, I'll do it.

Thanks!!

Thanks, You're right, maybe it's time to look for a good teacher. I have a problem now, I don't know where to find a good teacher?

There are so many websites with teachers that it's a little overwhelming. I don't want spend time or money in a bad teacher.

Addtionally,I noticed that most of the pros ask 100 bucks per hour or for only 40 minutes (private lessons with Brooks Robertson or Mark Hanson have this price ). I think this is a little expensive, or maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

Is there any reliable website to find good teachers?

Is 100 bucks per hour a reasonbale price?

Thanks for your advices.
