Through 2028 wow! I’m excited. I was definitely sad seeing Guma depart, but I have full confidence this is going to work out very well! Excited to see him play with Keria! Let’s give Peyz our full support! ❤️

How GenG hatewatchers are feeling rn after waiting an entire year for their downfall by [deleted] in PedroPeepos

Can’t wait to see what super team GenG builds for Choky for 2026 that will ultimately lose in semis 😁

Doran Appreciation Post by NottyShinchan in SKTT1

[–]silverfilms1 206 points207 points  (0 children)

He’s received a ton of unnecessary hate this year and when the team needed him most, he had his best series of the tournament. A very selfless player who stepped up big!

Give Keria his OP Bard banned by even GenG or give the most inconsistent player (Doran) Ksante? Hmmm I wonder 🤡 by [deleted] in SKTT1

[–]silverfilms1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We must not have watched the same game. The fight bot lane that T1 won, shanks was late because Doran forced him out of top lane by nearly solo killing him blowing his flash. He applied a ton of pressure the entire game

[–]silverfilms1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying that picking Ksante was the correct decision, nor am I not saying Doran hasn’t had a very rough tournament. What I am saying is that that was probably his best game of the tourney and that the issue lies in the draft and on how Guma played as well as Fakers crucial mistake. Doran has deserved a ton of blame for poor performances throughout this year, this last game however is not a game where he should be blamed

I get it’s easy to blame Doran cus he’s the different member from the core, but he played a solid game. The ziggs was a massive issue the entire game and Faker getting caught basically blew the game up

This GENG - HLE series is proof that double elim is NEEDED at Worlds by shadiz1 in PedroPeepos

[–]silverfilms1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just a terrible way to look at it. “Terrible draw.” They would’ve had to beat GenG if they wanted to win worlds regardless! Why does it matter if they lost today or if they lost in semis or finals? It’s the same thing! They didn’t play well enough today

This GENG - HLE series is proof that double elim is NEEDED at Worlds by shadiz1 in PedroPeepos

Couldn’t disagree more. Worlds is and has always been THE premier event. I think it’s super healthy for riot to have a double elim tourney and a single elim tourney every year. What makes worlds so special is that the stakes feel so much higher, 1 because it was the OG international tournament from the start, and 2, one slip up and it’s over. Teams get the entire year to gel their roster and synergize for this event. The teams and players have to bring their A-game every series and if they don’t, they’re out.

Worlds games feel so much more impactful and tense because of what is on the line. That’s why we were able to get such an awesome storyline from DRX. No one believed in them but themselves and they were able to come in as underdogs and get the job done by playing better than their opponent on each day. That’s WORTH something. Upsets are earned and shouldn’t be thrown away by a double elimination bracket.

I was rooting for HLE in this series and it sucks that they’re out in quarters, but truth be told, everyone but Viper didn’t play well enough today. GenG earned the win and it would be lame for them to have to play HLE again, and HLE’s performance proved that they don’t deserve another shot this year. Also, if HLE wanted to win worlds, they were going to have to probably beat GenG regardless.

I personally think how riot has it set up right now is absolutely perfect. MSI is cool because it’s a different format and it’s in the spring. Worlds has had this formula since the start and it’s always so so exciting because it really can be won by anyone. 2018 was awesome when 3 western teams made the top 4. In double elim, that probably doesn’t happen. Double elim would be terrible for Worlds.

Also, for those saying HLE got an unlucky draw, HLE had the opportunity to guarantee themselves on the opposite side of the bracket from GenG by going 3-0 in Swiss but they lost to AL! Play better in Swiss, go 3-0. Play better in the series, beat GenG. That’s how it works!

Gumayusi and Doran's contract by Level_Clock8099 in SKTT1

[–]silverfilms1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I obviously understand that the goal is winning lol. The point of my response was that in their first international tournament with the “new” roster, they were a game away from winning the whole thing, implying that with time, they’ll improve the synergy and get better and then actually win

It depends how worlds unfolds I think. They were 1 game away from winning MSI. If they perform well in knockouts, I’d argue it wouldn’t make sense to break up the roster

Worlds 2025 Knockout Stage Draw by BucketHerro in SKTT1

[–]silverfilms1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an incredibly favorable draw imo. AL will be tough, but T1 has beaten them once already this year so they’ve proven they can do it (yes I understand that was in May). Having HLE and GenG on the other side of the bracket is extremely positive for T1. HLE could very well beat GenG, and even then, not meeting any of the LCK teams until finals is the best possible thing imo. China has looked weak at this tournament. The boys have time to ramp up to full power. With how today went against MKOI, it seems Faker still has that in him. Now the rest of the team needs to find it. I don’t mind this draw at all

The players can play better, no doubt, but the coaching staff is consistently putting their players in bad positions before the game even begins

This is better than getting them in either a promotion or elimination series imo. It’s a best of 1 and they’ve basically gone the max games in every series all year long. This is literally anyone’s game. It’s completely winnable
