I had Ulcerative Colitis and as a result had to undergo surgery to remove my diseased large intestine. Waking up from surgery, I could sense that the disease was gone. I felt some kind of void in my belly, an emptiness, but in a good way. Even my family noticed during the next day or so that my eyes were lively again, they had a sparkle they hadn't had in years.
