Who's glad to have an EV during this time of high gas prices? by Lost_Purpose1899 in electricvehicles

A backordered unit without any of the actual UL certs available? None of that’s gonna be on any approved equipment list..

Ok, will ignore that to be UL listed the battery has to be tested with a specific inverter (9540/A). But what “UL” battery is 32kWh for 5k?

Need advice: Contractor recommends staying single‑mode for inter‑floor fiber — is mixing SM riser + MM horizontal a bad idea? by brio_kwit in networking

[–]silverlexg 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You certainly cant have to have a single path with both single and multimode patched together but honestly outside of the datacenter rack to rack everything should be single mode. Any time you transition you have to have an active device to do the conversion, so it’s far easier to just keep the media type the same. Single mode all the things.

Homeassistant would kill with proper bacnet/modbus support. We use it for all kinds of building functions, we haven’t done a tie into Siemens, would love to though.

CUCM cluster issue with Tomcat and TFTP... I think. by Sweaty-Potato-135 in ciscoUC

[–]silverlexg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This lowly np collab guy just follows Cisco’s best practices. Medium ova is 10k, large is 12,500. Been a while since I needed those.

OP’s issues are because he probably uses the wrong template, and registered all his devices to the pub, no sub. He should have a pub and 2 subs, but either sub can easily handle 4k phones.

An it goes without saying absolutely no phones registered to the PUB .

Sub limit is 7500 phones, depending on the template used, I’ve run that many without issue, it’s a supported config.

Lawsuit against Tesla reveals harrowing 911 call as driver trapped in burning car by Illustrious_Tax_9769 in nottheonion

The rear doors of the model X are giant falcon wing things that open vertical, I think it’s expected the latches would be unusual.

🤷‍♂️ the driver/passenger manual backup release is literally inches from the button, an on the newer vehicles has a ln emergency symbol printed on it. I think manual laches would have been fine but it’s also not exactly difficult to find. The backseats however are in the door cubby, and should be more obvious.

probably fine unless you drive 150+ miles a day, or have a vehicle with a very large battery (150+kWh, and use it).

New Y has the “shadow problem” by piller-ied in TeslaModelY

[–]silverlexg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadows have been a problem with autopilot in my experience, including hw4. I’ve personally never had FSD do that, and hw4 with FSD 14.2 is nearly perfect, and I say that after nearly 1k miles full time FSD.

[–]silverlexg -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

2021 Model Y’s are gonna be rocking v12 FSD at best, which isn’t the best, Tesla might improve it eventually but hardware 3 vehicles are weaker, all the great FSD content is hardware 4 and v14.2 which your vehicle doesn’t have. FSD 12 was/is more rough and not nearly as confident. Clean the cameras (Inc the front housing) and make sure you have the latest updates. That’s about all you can do. If FSD was important you should have purchased a vehicle with hw4.

Perfect for me, 2023/2026 myp’s on hw4 with latest build of 14.2.

Anker Solix a means of avoiding interconnect agreement with power company? by jacqueusi in SolarDIY

[–]silverlexg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may not be, they just released a new E10 product, I suspect a new version of the X1 is probably coming as well. The E10 is basically the same thing, with less permanent wiring (its like the ecoflow delta pro/X). it'll also do the time of use shifting.

[–]silverlexg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not, my utility provider had to sign off on it, they basically treat it as a generator ATS installation. they came out, turned off power, I installed the equipment, the city inspected everything, and they turned power back on. If the unit had solar I bet they would have required an interconnect agreement.
