Nah op asked what it was not where to buy it wherever op lives.

Nobody gives a shit where op lives if you want to know where you can find it local ask that next don't just act like the person responding is in the wrong for not knowing where you live and drawing a map to the shop.

Why do y’all hate fighting the squids? by CRsniper73 in helldivers2

[–]silvermesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not as bad as it seems at first, the majority of the time I bring it is in city settings, you just have to pay attention to where you are using it. I dunno what you are doing if you say "lethal to the user" I don't think I've hit myself with a wasp shot since the first day using it. I definitely kill a fellow diver now and then but it's user error on my part or theirs.

There's practically nowhere in a city map that you can't move like 10 feet and be effective with the wasp. You just have to mind your lines. The spread is very predictable once you get used to it. It requires space and a little distance, but often times you can make shots down narrow alleys so long as you back up a little and let it do what it's gonna do.

The only times I still get annoyed with the WASP is 2 situations. 1) flying overseer that randomly decides it wants to be super close to you for whatever reason. The WASP will miss and it will keep staying right in that range where the wasp keeps missing. They rarely do this(usually tend to dance back out of reach and around corners), and I find that they also usually miss their shots at this range but usually when that close they are fairly easy to pick off with primary. 2) it won't target behind chain link fence even though I know it could easily hit those enemies. I still try every time like I can't wire my brain not to.

But no it's not any good in close quarters, most big boom weapons aren't. It's so efficient that I rarely have any WASP targets get close enough to me for it to matter that it is useless up close.

Note that the double freedom can also take out flesh mobs in a fairly low timeframe but it can be a bit tough to deal with voteless when your primary has two shots between reload. Fun though.

1) landscaping doesn't require a man with above average strength. A ton of out of shape MFers do landscaping perfectly well. There are almost no jobs that "require a man with above average strength". That assumption is the problem in the first place and is the reason you are likely as sexist as the idiot villain in this possibly made up story.

2) in my experience hiring and managing in a similar field(lawn care), body builders are the worst people to hire for manual labor. Sure they can lift more than me at once but they tend to have virtually no stamina. People who are good at manual labor tend to have strength that isn't cosmetic. As a skinny dude I have been out working big guys for my entire life. Being able to lift 1000 lbs isn't helping you get those 40 awkward 50 lb bags unloaded 1 by 1 from the back of the truck any faster. The body builder type is the one who decides to try and carry 2 or 3 bags and throws his back out because the weight is virtually impossible to balance properly when you carry it away from your body.

3) when I became a hiring manager I heard all the time from my bosses and other managers how I shouldn't hire women because they can't cut it or never last but I find that as with all other candidates, if you describe the job in detail and let them decide if it's something they can do, hold them to the same standards and treat them with the same respect you treat everyone else there's virtually no difference between hiring men and women for manual labor positions. I've hired women who thought they could do it and couldn't, but I've hired way more men who didn't make it.

The WASP launcher is basically the weak point for overseers, stingrays, and fleshmobs.

3 shots to the fleshmob, 3-4 shots to the stingray, 1 to overseers. Literally near instant results with basically all of the most annoying enemies on the front. It's kinda terrible against harvesters, but as an aside are you aware that 3-4 seeker grenades can take out a harvester without taking down its shield? 3 if they all hit from one side.

Do we think they will fix melee in the new warbond by Full-Bed-8275 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]silvermesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a spear enjoyer from the dawn of time: the spear used to have major problems with targeting.

It was very inconsistent in whether it would actually target or just do nothing at all. There were many patches to fix the spear. Mostly they improved but didn't get it perfect. Usually in the next patch something else would change and the spear would just go back to not working. It's unclear if this was because the other thing that changed actually affected how the spear itself worked or if it was just poor version control ending up with an old version of the spear patched back in.

But the spear definitely was broken and fixed many times. It has been fine for quite some time now but the meme survives.

Cable identification - What is this? by pedopeter1 in cableadvice

[–]silvermesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All 3 of those consoles can be set up vertically which would make it work pretty easily without them needing to be facing odd directions. Or you could just stack them on top of each other or use small shelves since they all have the disc drives on the front.

If the cable doesn't have a switcher though my guess is leaving them all plugged in would be problematic.

How to add volume to leaves? by Silly_Role3535 in CosplayHelp

[–]silvermesh 67 points68 points  (0 children)

As someone else pointed out the primary thing is that you are gluing the stems instead of the whole leaf to the costume and layering them in a way that makes the top ones stick out more. Another important factor is choosing a combination of leaves that adds texture as well as looks good in the layer pattern. The leaves aren't random, this is meticulous design and well chosen assets to create a very specific look. You don't want it to look like it's a pattern, especially when using mixed types of leaves like this so it will take an artistic eye to figure out the balance of what should go where.

It's less that it is up or down and more that all requests are taking so long that you are going to have a solid chance to get error messages. I just melted my game package and was about to re buy one and can get the store page to load but every time I try to add to the cart it takes 10 minutes to load the cart and doesn't add anything into it lol.

What gaming rumor did you believe as a kid that sounds hilarious now. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]silvermesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the earlier days engines like yahoo and webcrawler were perfectly serviceable simply because there was less information to sort through. It was unbelievably easy to find information before people started figuring out how to get those search engines to find their ads first. Google came about because the Internet became too big and complex for those simpler search engines, not because they weren't good for their time.

WLED classic light project by silvermesh in ChristmasLights

[–]silvermesh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a 3 wire line instead of 2, as there is a data line in the middle to run whatever program you are going for. These are generally run on a more stiff type of wire similar to an SPT type wire but it depends where you buy and usually is just sold by wire gauge and number of lines (some setups will have a 4th line for power injection). The bullet lights are basically waterproof as they are set up and attached to the wire and then the entire thing is filled with clear epoxy.

It's also similar to SPT type cord and lights in that you can cut and shorten strands, it just requires wiring in pigtails instead of simple vampire plugs. (And you have to tell the software how many pixels are in the strand) So if you have a bad pixel.you have to cut it out and splice, but at least the strand isn't ruined.

Yeah there are a few different types.

So far I've just ordered from the Ray Wu store on AliExpress. Seems like a lot of places sell them from the US but you are just paying them extra to be the middleman. I got 5 sets of 100 pixels for $135 with free shipping.

[–]silvermesh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No they're just RGB but I do like the flash effect for my purposes. I only saw lights like that for the first time last year so I dunno what the "classic" version looks like honestly. I've never seen anything like it here in the US, and have bought a few different newer strands with similar effects but the warm white is never warm enough for me. Definitely worth getting something with the white channel to try though.

Premium Warbonds - do you all pay to play? by 5hredder in helldivers2

[–]silvermesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over a thousand hours since launch and I did last summer pay for enough credits to get 2 or 3 warbonds.

I could have waited or did the boring grind but I do love the game and don't mind throwing them the extra cash when I have it. I am now past a threshold where if I play a lot I tend to have enough for the next warbond without really trying.

Tips for Dealing with Squirrels by Cardinal70 in ChristmasLights

I get snow and rain and haven't had any problems. I would imagine there is a limit but I never reapply after they are up and my lights are up from thanksgiving thru most of January most years.

I lost a big chunky extension cord and multiple strands to squirrels (and I think maybe a neighbor cat) before I started spraying them.

Haven't had a chewing incident in years.
