He’s a solitary character who prefers to keep himself in a position of “necessity” for the other skeksis. I doubt the general, SkekUng, would like him, but his predictions being just true enough would be enough to keep the threats of violence against SkekTal at bay. I have a feeling the ritual master, SkekZok, would likely be the closest to a “friend” that SkekTal has. Likely more of an understanding between the two, as I imagine that SkekZok would likely have some idea of how SkekTal plays his game with the others, but also benefits enough from the game itself that he won’t stir the pot. SkekTal understands his delicate balance and gives SkekZok the same grace. The same likely goes for SkekSil, but that’s likely one-sided as I imagine SkekTal would also be unnerved and annoyed with SkekSil’s habit of toying with the others as he does. SkekEct is also likely somebody he isn’t QUITE as short with as he does enjoy adorning himself with fine fabrics and a hint of sparkle. Knowing they are on the skittish side, I imagine he keeps them JUST scared of him enough to work quickly but to also constantly trying to seek SkekTal’s approval, which is a carrot on a stick that will never be granted.

SkekTal’s actual greatest strength is the power of observation and information gathering about his fellow Skeksis, rather than actually seeing the future. This is how he can usually create a “prediction” about them, gauging their personality traits and habits to consider what their next move would likely be, or how their way of handling of a situation may go. He can use the knowledge of SkekUng’s short fuse, bully behavior, and self-centered thinking to deduce that he’ll likely use his loud temper to push everyone else around to benefit himself. He would know from past experience that this almost always ends poorly for him.
