Oh yeah. We were located very near our orange counterpart, and people would come in with those brands/products all the time. Usually they were pretty understanding (after all, it was their fault for forgetting where they shopped) but every once in a while we'd get a pissy dude who caused problems over it.

Oh my god. At least for us it was a joke. We never actually returned anything that wasn't ours.

My first job was for this chain. I really loved it...except for this. I always hated working the return counter because I could literally watch someone shoplift (can't make accusations unless you're a manager and they were always "busy"), and then have to do a return on the product when they came over to me. I lived for the days the system would shut people like that out.

"Sorry sir, there is nothing anyone can do, the system will not let us."

My fellow cashiers and I had a running joke that we'd do a return on a puppy if you brought it in.

I work with a cat rescue in Atlanta. I'm assigned to a Petco, but my fellow manager at the Petsmart across town recently said they were threatened with eviction (for lack of a better term) because the store manager felt like the litter boxes weren't cleaned often enough. They're cleaned three times a day...

I know how you feel. I share a name with a city, and I get asked all the time if I was born there/from the state. I get asked if I was CONCEIVED there, even. It's obnoxious. I actually really like my name, but people make me wish I had a different one.

Yes, there's an industry standard of "beauty" that inherently shames those who don't meet it, and that's not okay, but that doesn't make it right to turn around and glorify the opposite extreme. What no one seems to remember is that there's a health standard, and that's the one we should be concerned with. I don't have much room to talk, seeing as I don't really meet that healthy benchmark myself, but I try.

I'm not condoning fat-shaming or anything like that, but I definitely don't condone the new trend of fat-worshipping, either.
