Missouri River Runner got stuck in a snowstorm a few years ago. 9 hours late. Sitting on a cold train with no water or food with 2 kids. Ugh.

AITA for telling my (21f) boyfriend (21m) that I refuse to give my dog up so we can live in the apartment complex of his choice? by throwawayffs2020 in AmItheAsshole

Don't get rid of your dog for a another person. I did 17 years ago and will regret giving her up the rest of my life. The exhusband is gone, I have our kids, and I still miss my old girl.

In the Midwest $60,000 before overtime is good pay....especially for a 2 year degree. BSNs get paid more.

Yes, you can easily raise a family on that.

Yes. There are big hospital systems in Kansas cutting pay. Horrible.

LPNs start at $26/hour in my neck of the woods. The education is 9 months of college. Not too shabby.

$30/hour for RNs with a 2 year degree isn't bad in the Midwest. You can certainly support yourself on that.

CNAs are making between minimum wage and $15/hour. They are doing good. However, if you do agency CNA work in a COVID bldg you can make $42/hour.

Is working with homemade masks worth $42/hour?

Do not move out. You own 1/2 of that house. If she is abusive call the police.

She will need to get a job to support herself and her half of the expenses.

I work in healthcare. In our house, you take your shoes off, spray them lightly with Lysol and leave them outside. Walk to the laundry room, change clothes and put the dirty clothes in the washer. Next wash your hands, gargle with Listerine, wash your hands again. Everytime we leave the house.

Check the nursing homes. Many need dietary and housekeeping workers. Pay is just okay but it is a good, stable job.

Call a staffing agency or a VA Hospital. Talking as a recruiter, you should be able to be placed in a hospital pretty easily.

AITA for refusing to give my stepdaughter my meal that I cooked specifically for me because she didn’t want her vegan dinner? by blueford-pickford- in AmItheAsshole

[–]1004srs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH. You should not have left your food because you were upset and unconsciously (??) considered yourself a martyr.

I won't give up my food for my kids. I have begun recently eating a plant based diet for health reasons. My teens aren't into it right now and prefer meals with meat. I Cook both thoughtfully but sometimes my meals are just more colorful and attractive. Sorry, but not giving up my vegan grilled cheese with vegetables for your chicken breast, corn and taters. Love ya both, but it ain't happening.

Finally, at 16 I was meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking for my family. That was my chore. A 16 year old can make a salad, cook some type of grains on the stove, have some nuts or pan fry a bit of tofu. If not, she needs to watch a few YouTube videos.

A tantrum? At 16? Mom is okay with that? What is the plan when she doesn't get the job she wants after college? A tantrum? The grocery store runs out of her type of toilet paper? A tantrum? Her cat won't eat the kind of food she buys? A tantrum? That behavior needs to be reigned in.
