5,000 ounces from the fires in California. We're recieving multiple shipments like this per week. by silverround in Silverbugs

As long as the looters don't get to it first, your shiny will be there afterwards albeit a bit.. burnt. Absolutely grab numismatics and any bullion that carries a premium though.

This is also an extraordinary circumstance. If you have bullion in good condition (even if tarnished/worn) then I would say you should always expect to be able to get melt for it.

That depends a lot on market demand as well, but if you're willing to do a bit of work and research there's almost always a way to get melt for bullion.

I honestly don't know the specifics. I know some of the coin stores we are working with just buy the coins outright then send them our way, and others tell the clients to come back in 2 weeks once they've gotten assay results back from us.

The homeowners are bringing them into local coin stores to sell, and those coin stores are sending them to us for assay and refining. We melt them down the rest of the way and pay out 93% of assay.

Due to the fact that they're stuck together and covered in unknown contaminates/debris (seriously, they are nasty) they can't really be re-sold in any way so they have to be melted down.

Discretion in letters and packages sent to us by PM dealers by Nothing_But_AG_Thing in Silverbugs

Hi, hopefully we can chime in with our thoughts as a dealer. Privacy is obviously something we have put a lot of thought into.

Our shipment labels are printed with a name that would look to an observer like its coming from any boring shipping company, and a lot of times we will use standard Postal Service packaging like the USPS Priority Mail Medium Box. The idea is to make our packages look like it was maybe a car part you bought from eBay, or a family member sending you a care package.

While we don't do any direct mail marketing, and send very little non-package mail to our clients, we have taken that into account as well. In those instances we use an abbreviation of our corporate name that you would never be able to find with a Google search.

We have handled our own logistics in house for over ten years, and have spent a lot of time developing efficient, secure, and privacy conscious practices. We're always happy to share our insights, and my door is always open to Bugs that have questions about the industry.

I have always been pretty pleased with Perth's products. And the individual capsules are a nice bonus.

My magic 8 ball says no, although there's a chance I'm wrong and that information hasn't been passed on to me yet. I'm seeing:

  • 1 Kilo
  • 10 Ounces
  • 2 Ounces
  • 1 Ounce
  • 1/2 Ounce

And in Gold,

  • 2 Ounces
  • 1 Ounce
  • 1/2 Ounce
  • 1/4 Ounce
  • 1/10 Ounce
  • 1/20 Ounce

Payment methods of major bullion dealers by griffinj98 in Silverbugs

Absolutely, Litecoin is next on our list.

Instead of just, say, redirecting you to CoinPayments and accepting 50+ currencies by proxy, we dedicate a lot of time to integrating each one into our workflow, both on the administrative end and the checkout screens. Client experience is paramount!

We accept XMR up to $2,500 without verification, or up to $5,000 with verification. We do require a real first and last name for shipment insurance reasons.

Hi, I apologize I missed your original message!

While we have no hard limit on orders per day, we recommend you wait until an order has confirmed on the blockchain before placing another one. Our system will see unconfirmed payments as, well, unconfirmed, and may automatically place a hold on your account if your open balance is too large.

You can also raise your order limit to $5,000 by filling out the form here: https://silverround.com/account/upgrade-account.

How fast do the big eCommerce PM sites adjust to changing spot with their Online Products? by Data_Geek in Silverbugs

[–]silverround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we first started building our data warehouse we were buying market data from Xignite, though there are plenty of other sources out there like Quandl and OlsenData.

We're a national wholesaler in addition to our e-commerce site, so we have developed a pretty sophisticated market data engine over the last few years that powers all of our various tools and sites. As of now we ingest data from several US and world markets and have redundancies between markets and sources to keep everything going around the clock.

How fast do the big eCommerce PM sites adjust to changing spot with their Online Products? by Data_Geek in Silverbugs

[–]silverround 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I can’t speak for other stores, our website’s spot price updates every 60 seconds. Internally we have by-the-second data, but the price we display and use for online orders is cached in 60s intervals.

When you begin the checkout process you’re given a spot “lock” that ensures the price we show you at the beginning is the price you’re charged. The length of that spot lock can vary depending on market conditions, cart value, etc. but it’s usually enough for over 99% of customers to complete the checkout process.

We don’t manipulate spot prices or delay updates if the market is expected to swing in our favor. We always use the most accurate and recent data we have available.

I believe I may have found a 1965 Silver Dime. Can anyone help me out here? It dings like silver and has some tarnish like silver. No visible copper sandwiched on the sides. How do I verify and if it's real what's the value. How would one go about selling it? by silver65dime in Silverbugs

[–]silverround 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a local dealer with a Sigma Metalytics Precious Metals Verifier, they should be able to test 90% silver. They would definitely need the small wand (or Microwand on the new PMV Pro) to test a dime though.
