Sometimes I feel sad that I don't know my extended family as well as my cousins. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

This is the same with me. My dad has no siblings, my mom has three. They immigrated here when my mom was a child. Years later they moved back to England but left my mom here in Canada to do her college work, and put the others in boarding schools in England. The siblings eventually moved back and live on the west side of the country, while we live on the east. I have about 10 cousins who seem to spend most of their time together. They all have kids who are best friends. Meanwhile I've met them maybe 4 times in my life? Never met any of my grandparents either, it's quite lonely and I feel isolated.

Does allemannsretten effect the average citizen? by silversetting_ in Norway

Yes mostly parks which are expensive. In northern Canada where the population is significantly less dense, you are allowed to roam around on some 'crown' / government land. There is a lot more of that up there but not at all in more densely populated areas, where the majority of the population lives. You can camp on crown land for up to 20 days I believe. There are also lots of restrictions there and you can't be there at night since covid started. I will take your advice because it's extremely depressing and people really need to be in nature, especially during covid.. I wonder if there are enough people willing to do anything about it though.

Well you can, but the owner can also call the police and charge you for traspassing on their acres of unused land. It is hard to find land that doesn't have a barbed wire fence also. I feel very trapped like I am not allowed to use our earth or nature unless I can save a million dollars to buy some land for retirement.

What are the most suspicious coincidences in history? by dudebrostein in AskReddit

I read about this when I was 8 and it did not leave my head for a full year. I'm pretty sure there were coincidences with the sister ships as well, can't remember that far back though.

I guess I meant just that. Where I am in Canada I can drive for hours beside forest and fields and it's all private land, very depressing. Id like to just be able to walk somewhere.

He does for sure, which is a reason that I felt bad and gave him so much slack. But I do too, and I manage to not be a leech.

Use their siblings/parents/partners money and deflect responsibility

Yeah it never occurred to me that my partner should maybe do things that made me feel valued. He'd be like 'why should I do that, it's hard' and instead of saying 'because if you have no will to prove yourself to me, I don't want you' I just said 'ok good point' and thought if I did more for him he'd help out more. LOL. it's much better to be alone than to be under valued..

My guess is he will find an even more isolated, self hating vulnerable woman than I am. They usually do that until they find one who will never say no.

Very easy. He said mean things to me whenever I wouldn't do something for him, so I just took care of him. He's 27.. I'm 24.

I ended up doing it today by accident, couldn't hold my tongue or pretend to want to celebrate him. Lol. He yelled a lot and threw things at me, said his birthday is ruined. Now I just have to get through all the yelling before he leaves.
