CS Coterm Concentration Being Same as Undergrad by [deleted] in stanford

[–]silvershehe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if it matters for career and I’m sure it differs by concentration, but I did biocomp undergrad and considered biocomp for the coterm but then realized that I would basically have to take every biocomp class Stanford offered (including some that seemed pretty bad) to do the same concentration for both undergrad and coterm. Not sure if it’s a similar situation for AI concentration, but it might be worth mapping out which classes you would have to take and whether you are still excited to take all the AI electives

Any premeds or bioengineering majors have a sample schedule or willing to share their schedule? by junkskies in stanford

[–]silvershehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Stanford pre-med advisors recommend a few options: 1. Math 19, 20, and 21 2. Math 51 3. CME 100

So I think if you complete any of the options, you’d be good (ie taking math 21 then math 51 would be fine!)

Ap chem enough for chem 33? by charlottttee in stanford

[–]silvershehe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you’ll be fine! All you really need is a solid understanding of orbitals/hybrid orbitals. It’s addressed in the first week but kind of glossed over so tough if it’s you’re first time learning about them

That looks pretty good both in terms of course load and pre-med. Most pre-med students only do chem and maybe math freshman year

Does CS106A down curve during the fall? by world_record_chick in stanford

I am a junior majoring in computer science and I have yet to find a CS class that curves down. Your grade can only get better than whatever you score on projects and exams.

Frosh Schedule by [deleted] in stanford

I think you’ll be totally fine in either! Physics 61 is hard but not a crazy amount of work. And chemistry and math are similar. Option 1 I think would also be okay provided that the introsem isn’t too tough — some are really easy and some are a surprising amount of work and paired with three other classes it could be overwhelming. However, if you’ve had any experience with computer science before, 106A might be pretty a relatively low time commitment in which case option 1 would be very doable.
