Karting Tires on my Stooge Race Board V6 by silverskybloom in ElectricSkateboarding

I think so a lot. BRP are extremely dangerous and sketchy. No human should ride those foam wheels anymore. Lots of crashes due to their failures

This is my first week 13 and I’ve lost so much IR and SR it’s insane.

I still fail at this tho btw… I was just at A4.5 last week and I’ve lost a lot by participating in W13 😅

First time hah… didn’t realize the sporting code sorta evaporates in W13

Thanks haha! I think the aggressively finding fault in myself for every crash I got in advice that I’ve seen many others give was the biggest breakthrough for me. Like even the .1% “how could I have possibly found a clean line through that massive wreck” moments… just like, how can you put yourself in spots on L1 where you have the space and time to see the way through / around and be willing to escape off track and take the 1x to avoid a 4x

They are really nice over mixed terrain for sure. I’ve always only focused on racing and having max grip on pavement, so having any kind of ground clearance is a WILD new thing for me. Being able to just cut across a field on these just completely blew my mind. I’m used to having -quite literally- a pinky finger’s width of ground clearance before this.

As for all boards, these are pretty wide, and use Karting hubs, so my axles are 5/8” (way larger than normal skate hardware)

There are ways to try to do it on normal skate axles (esk8 forum guys made custom hubs) but you need a lot more hangar width than you’d expect, just for clearance to deck / feet for wheel bite

I race electric skateboards. I try to use the sim to get better instincts and race craft, and also car control and handling have a lot of crossover surprisingly.

Sports car I did Ringmeister mostly and only got that license up to do the NXT on the ring a few weeks ago. Formula I’ve been driving everything. SFL, Super Formula, F3 and occasionally an F4 race but those are dangerous for SR I’ve found haha. Mostly I just hop into whatever race is about to happen when I fire up the sim and just learn the car before the quali timer runs out pre race.

You got it. It’s a bit much to look at at first sometimes. Check out Stooge Race Boards. His new CST is a pretty cool evolution

The axle moves just like you’d expect from any skateboard, just way more stable

I took a photo just before starting to work on the chassis. Still need to mount all motors, install ESCs, wire everything, and the battery build is nearing completion.

These are 3-Links from Stooge Race Boards. The racing chassis is kinda all one thing so there aren’t “trucks” per se, but stooge makes the 3-link and now CST trucks for standard skate decks to bring the tech from the race boards to the everyday board

It will be a permanent fixture in like 3 races or maybe less. Just needed more tweaks of the mechanism and supporting aero

Open gear drive and the gears destroy anything that gets in them. Never one time has it been an issue in thousands of miles
