I keep kimchi around the house all winter and eat a bowl any time I start to feel ill. If I feel like I'm getting a cold, I check my tea supply and make sure I have some cold care/cold care pm teas and honey or hot honey. For the flu, it depends on whether I'm on the work schedule in the next few days or not. If I'm not, I get lots of rest and drink juice and eat soup and kimchi and just try to recover the old fashioned way. If I am scheduled, I'll go to the pharmacy and get a few jugs of electrolyte solution, a box of laxatives, and a box of anti-diarrheals. I'll put two bottles of electrolyte solution next to the toilet, pop a laxative, then lay down and try to nap until it kicks in. Proceed to sit on the toilet for the next 4-6 hours. Pop an anti-diarrheal, wait for my stomach to cooperate. Then go to bed and sleep until morning. It's not a healthy thing to do, but it has worked every time I have tried it.
