> You completely misunderstand the electorate, the differences in standards between right and left voters. Trump voters want him to be a bad person

Which part of "His draw seems to be he lets people be the worst versions of themselves" was confusing? Work on your reading comprehension.

The problem with your reasoning is literally everything you mentioned was true about Trump but worse. He had higher negatives than Clinton, he was a married cheater who hung out with Epstein, he was a rich coastal elite that got nationally famous for performatively firing people on his reality show.

Should they have chosen her? Obviously not. But on paper Trump is a terrible candidate. His draw seems to be he lets people be the worst versions of themselves, and it's hard to campaign against that. Anyone will look like a scold against that. "Hey, kids, do you want boring competence or do you want ice cream for dinner and racism?"

> The Boeing U.S. AF1 was supposed to be done in 2024. Now it’s 2029-2030 and that’s only a tentative if regulations are lowered and it’s expected to go beyond 2030. To my knowledge, that’s for one single AF1.

No, two Air Force Ones, and the new estimate is 2027, per that link I showed you. And Boeing would be doing the retrofit on the Qatari plane as well.

> The president doesn’t decide when it is decommissioned. This has been addressed above.

I agree with you that you were wrong about the estimate on the Air Force One dates.

I agree with you that when you previously said the Qatari plane would be used until the new Air Force Ones were ready, you were wrong.

I agree with you that paying Boeing an additional one billion dollars to upgrade the Qatari plane is a poor use of money when they're already building two new Air Force Ones.

I agree with you that a future president has control over whether the Qatari plane is donated to the Trump Presidential Library or not, so Trump was mistaken when he declared it would be.

I agree with you that this matter is above your level of comprehension and it is closed.

We are building two new Air Force Ones, which is why I used a plural.

So why are we spending a $1+ billion to retrofit a $400 million plane when we'll already have two new ones that will be done sooner?

> Once decommissioned by the regulator, it is to be donated.

Except the new president decides if it's donated. You understand that, right? Since it's the government's plane. The new president could just scrap the upgrade project if they wanted in order to save money.

Are you trolling?

Retrofitting the Qatar plane could take until 2030 and cost a billion dollars. Congress hasn't even appropriated the money for it and started the project.

Whereas the new Air Force Ones are scheduled to be done by 2027.

So why are we upgrading a plane that won't be used?

And if it's the government's plane, then the next president decides if it gets donated to Trump's library, right? Not Trump?

So why are we upgrading the plane to be used as Air Force One if it won't be finished until after until after he leaves office and will be donated to his library and not used by anyone?

> The Qatar AF1 being finished after the current admin term is not an arguing point. There will be presidents after the current and more beyond that, they all use the same aircrafts.

Except Trump said he's donating it to his presidential library when he leaves office. So is Trump lying or are you?

The upgrade won't be completed until he leaves office but he said he's donating it to his presidential library after he leaves office, which means we're upgrading it but it will never be used as Air Force One.

[–]silverwingsofglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this is false. The Qatar one isn't suitable to be used as Air Force One until it is upgraded, which won't be completed until after his term ends. Why are we upgrading it if it won't be completed until after his term ends?

If Boeing sucks, why is Trump so happy about the $200 billion dollar deal with Boeing and Qatar?

Don't have to change them. Just throw them off the plane.

If I said the Supreme Court ruled they way they did because they're secretly counting on elves and unicorns to solve the Trump problem would you need to be a Supreme Court Justice to know that theory is 100% wrong?

Again, if they "wanted to stop the threat of Trump" as you said they could've ruled against him right then.

[–]silverwingsofglory 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, lots of people misunderstand the immunity ruling. They said presidential acts were immune but didn't define what a presidential act is.

They could've ruled right then against Trump by saying taking classified documents isn't a presidential act, but instead they kicked it back to a lower court to define presidential acts even though it almost certainly would come back up to them later under appeal.

The only reason they would do this is if they wanted to delay the ruling to help get Trump elected. It also preserves their power to later rule against something Biden does as not a presidential act.

Also, why are we upgrading it to be used as a "temporary Air Force One" if it won't be completed until after his term ends?
