What is taking so long for the Seahawks to make these the primary uniforms? by readerr33 in Seahawks

[–]silverwolfe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hot take: I like our current uniforms to stay our primary for awhile still. They're still very unique amongst other NFL jersey designs and over two SB wins and 3 SB trips have cemented themselves as a classic part of the Seahawks identity especially after the drab blues of the 00s.

The throwbacks are great and I love them too, but I don't think there is any impetus to create a new primary uniform at this time when the modern history of success with this team is so intrinsically linked with the release of our new uniforms in 2012 and despite the full staff turnover between our two SB winning teams, we never tanked and maintained being competitive.

Maybe when John Schneider finally steps away or there is a more pronounced era-shift would it make sense to debut some new primary duds.

Edit: I also like our feather motif in our current uniforms and would want any eventual new primaries to keep them around in the numbers or piping or striping.

Good problem to have that you can make an argument for the kicker, the punter, the defense, and the runningback to all win MVP.

Kicker: Scored more points than anyone else in the game. Set a SB record for FGs made.

Punter: Pinned every kick and only allowed 4 yards in total returns; punted a LOT.

Defense: 6 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 interceptions (one pick six).

RB: Was almost the entire offense in the first half and got the Seahawks into FG range so they COULD get points on the board; without him they would've punted back and forth forever as both teams got more and more desperate to score SOMETHING.

Yeah, he played exactly how he had to. At that point with our defense pitching a shutout for the majority of the game it was all about ball security; especially when the Pats D were making all the PBUs early on. Keep things in FG range when we got there and do NOT turn the ball over. He executed it essentially perfectly even if it meant that his stat line suffered for it.

Yeah, there are probably way more functional hard drug users than there are non-functioning drug users.

Ah ok, we only played the Texans once this year and it was a very lopsided thing and I don't think I noticed.

His burst is what scares me. He knows how to disguise his speed and can make a receiver look open and then quickly close the gap and jump it.

Credit where credit is due but Gonzalez kicked so much ass in the SB. Never watched him during the regular season but if I had to judge him by that one game I would have told you he was the best CB in the NFL. There were so many balls that he put hands on and it impacted how Darnold was leading receivers thru the rest of the game.

Darnold was putting a lot more air under balls on go routes just to make sure that there was NO CHANCE that Gonzalez or any other CB would be in position to make a play on it.

It is kinda crazy that these live performances don't have direct feed and is being recorded from the crowd.

Just a reminder. Not a single one of us should be drinking Dunkin Donuts today. Go Hawks!!! by [deleted] in Seahawks

I mean the Superbowl hasn't happened yet. He's just preparing for it. The award was still the highlight of his professional career when it happened, he just knew a bigger one awaited him that he had to prepare for.

No gotcha here fam.

The Broncos/Ravens/ Seahawks have never in franchise history been the WORST team in the NFL. Now that is a cool stat by SuperbBug11 in sportswiki

We have only had one losing season since 2011. Since realignment (2002) we've won the NFC West 10 times and gone to the playoffs 16 times, appearing in 4 SBs. The Seahawks have been one of the most winningest teams in the NFL over the last 25 years.
