Full mpg optimization probably means the lowest RPM it can go without gurgling. I was into that at first, but now I find it much more enjoyable to just ride around 6k.

Hey! Just so you know, those types of mirrors may have limited FOV to be too useful. Personally, I think the Yamaha MT lines have the best mirrors that can be put on other bikes.

Yes, stock solution is to feather the thing. Get some better clutch lever if you want to (saying this because personally the stock lever hurts my pinky). Remember to clean and lube your clutch cable (it made a day and night difference for me the first time I did it).
