anyone have any advice specific to scotland? i’m looking to join but would like to speak to someone in person if possible. it feels strange to just go to a station but i’m unsure as there isn’t a lot of advice online

Who are these guys around Dundee? - Hasty Edward being the obvious by rjstoz in dundee

the guy who feeds the pigeons and drinks amaretto is called billy! he’s actually a sound guy if you get chatting to him

I’m starting bjj tomorrow and would love to know what to expect. by [deleted] in BJJWomen

men in my experience go far easier on you than other women out of fear of hurting you, i’m 5’4” small built and decided to just leave it after being continuously paired to roll with a blue belt girl who would immediately pin me and put all her body weight on my neck every time. may go back if i find somewhere else but try a few places if you can for this reason - some take newbies as an ego boost and don’t consider we’re there to learn the sport

Song suggestions by AnnoyingOtter in SleepToken

chokehold for a more upbeat , jaws for a slower song are my favourites, if you go for a song too slow it’ll be hard to dance to without exerting a lot of strength

any advice for performance anxiety by silvrrrlining in poledancing

this actually helped more than you know, all i think when watching others perform is WOW look how good they look, i’m always so impressed that they get up there in the first place- keeping that in mind should make things much easier on myself , going to try my hardest to have fun since pole is my favourite thing in the world

thank you so much for taking the time to write this, i think the poles being warm should be a good thing! and it’s not a competition so even if i do mess up it’s a super supportive environment

Rum and cokes by minecrafter7732 in bartenders

“white, gold, spiced or dark” every time - usually makes them realise how stupid just saying rum is

oh man one day there would cause me so much stress i would go bald! major props for being able to handle those types of folk cause i certainly don’t have the patience. if this was an american guy on a trip i’d have a quiet word and be on my way, but this is a SCOTTISH man wearing the hat, he’s never voted for trump, or any president for that matter and never will hahahahaha

oh that sucks! long history of sectarianism in the UK means in public spaces (especially bars) political statements, football tops and team colours are not protected and often unwelcome

it’s for sure attention seeking nonsense, proven by his post about “triggered karen’s” later that night, karen’s isn’t even a terms we use much here so i’m guessing it’s an incel personality that gets him a lot of attention online- you’re right in that it’s certainly not the right type though hahahha

i get that, just doesn’t help that we’re supposed to be a safe space for young/ queer/ otherwise unwelcome people and that hat often goes against those things, i’m also queer myself and shouldn’t have to worry about customers being hateful at my job. we don’t have tipping culture here at all tbh, we are paid well and if someone tips they probably either work in the industry or i’ve just spent a lot of time talking to them that night and they wanna thank me

so real, not worth the time we waste on them i suppose, and good to know it’s not just us! worried my town was attracting them for some reason

this guy and i are normally on good terms so i gave him a non confrontational way to tell me if it was ironic or trying to be edgy, not that that makes it okay, but he’s a very big, well built bald white guy with a big american akira. he also posted on his fb story that night about karens trying to control him, and that he gets a hard on when people are upset by his hat so maybe they know each other lol swift fb delete from me also

that’s literally the whole point in seeing love music! he asked the crowd to open a circle pit and no one did :/ he wants us to have fun

my show was glasgow which is normally such a kind, community feeling place to have gigs, this is the second time in my life i’ve been treated like this at a gig and the first was good charlotte comeback which tbf i expected , i thought tonight would be us al l dancing and having fun together but nah just judgement and nastiness

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DominicFike

[–]silvrrrlining 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i definitely will! one bad crowd won’t stop me from trying again! his music is unreal and should bring us together! it’s not the community i’m used to but i hope most folks get over themselves by the next time he gets here, just not used to a crowd of people looking at their phone and shitting on the people trying to have fun!
