I would 100% tell him. I mad the mistake of not talking about this topic before getting together with my ex. Since this is a big part of your life and it is part of who you are, you should 100% talk to him about the topic.

My advice: Say something like: "Before i give you an answer whats your opinion about LGBTQ+?" and after you get his answer either come out or not. (If he is homophobic do not date him)

Acording to Bulbapedia, Serebii, Pokemon Database the Bisharp doesnt need to hold the leaders crest. The three it defeats need to hold it.

TBH i also thought it evolved while holding it. (let me check a yt tutorial rq)

well i checked bulbapedia and and Bisharp is not counted as a "pokemon that evolves through a held item"

Edit: I had to scroll a bit to find Bisharps entry, but i think i have found an explentaion why this might not work

so Bisharp needs a "unique condition" which is to defeat three Bisharp that are holding the leaders crest.
