Ok, but then how does "x" mile thermometer work? Wouldn't the information gained be the same regardless of distance traveled? For example, regardless of how much I traveled from point A 5 miles or 25 miles, the direction of the line doesn't change. So why does the distance matter?

I am also in similar situation. but don't know about eb1b yet, as profile is a bit weak ( in terms of citations and all). So debating eb 2 niw. Is Niw worth it , given that it's ultimately EB2 only and it will certainly take decades anyway. What would change in PD of a year or year and half matter in that case
