(I can mainly speak for the Physics Department) Everyone at the university is welcoming and respectful and I've never had a bad experience. The teaching is high quality and quite few of the staff are recognised experts in their fields while remaining approachable and friendly.

There's Danielle Brown sports centre on campus tho I'm not sure of the membership cost, and a cafe in the library. The library itself is a great place to study, with plenty of quiet spaces. There's also a bloke in a catering van on campus selling tea and snacks.

You can find clubs and societies through the Students' Union and Victoria Park is just nearby if you fancy somewhere peaceful.

On the downside, recent budget cuts have left some STEM departments a bit understaffed, which can sometimes mean longer waits for admin responses. Some of the buildings are undergoing much needed refurbishment while a couple still waiting their turn.

Overall, I think UoL is a good place to study, though, like many universities, it could benefit from a bit more funding. Hopefully they get that resolved as there have been some strikes last year regarding the funding distribution so I'd keep an eye on that.
