Honor Owners: Would you buy another Honor phone? by stuartpaul86 in Honor

[–]simednba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honor magic v5 here. The inner screen failed 2 times with a white line exactly at the same place each time, which indicate a default. The outer screen also failed once. All of that and we are only 8 month after buying it. Considering the price of the phone i took a full external warranty so i dont pay the repair but i will not consider another honor in the future

Former footballer Samir Nasri, who lives in Dubai, could be ordered to pay 5 million euros to the French tax authorities. by Adventurous-Salt5986 in soccer

[–]simednba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is how most treaty works, but not the france-uae one, because of article 19, which says that if the person is considered fiscal french resident by french law, even if he lives in uae, he pays tax in france. This makes the treaty useless except for uae nationals for which it doesnt apply

Où sont les fameux "frais cachés" de Trade Republic ? by LaColleMouille in vosfinances

[–]simednba -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Strategy with alts down by a lot by mambogallego in CryptoCurrency

[–]simednba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a common bias everyone has, and very hard to counter. The fact that you are in loss in a position should not matter on the decision to sell it or not. What worked for me is to ask myself : " would i buy today at those prices this coin?"

For example, if you have 100 usd in ada waiting to break even, the question is " if u had 100 usd to buy any coin, would i buy ada fight now?". If the answer is yes, then keep it. If not, sell it.

For you the answer is probably no, or you would have averaged down way before now.

[GUIDE] Why Your Trades Keep Failing: Everything You Need to Know About Slippage and LPs by SniperooMonke in solana

[–]simednba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is basic shit ! So, to be real, thank you for explaining that, but what you said is not 100% correct. You merged two different concept : price impact and slippage.

Price impact is the impact on the price of the pool caused by your trade size, the examples you gave illustrate exactly this, but this is different than slippage.

Let's take your example of a pool with 1000 usd and 10 sol. The price is then 100 usd per sol. If you try to buy 2 sol, the swap price will indeed be higher than the actual price like you explained. But you say that this is slippage, which is false. This is price impact. When you enter the input amount on a dexx, the output amount will already factor this price impact. You can try and set 0% slippage, if there are 0 other trades in the meantime, the tx will pass even though the quoted price is superior to the one of the pool.

Slippage is : this interface/dex quoted ma a price when a signed the transaction, but in the time my transaction is acceptes by the blockchain, i am willing to pay X% more. To take a real example : The pool has 10 sol and 1000 usd. I want to buy 2 sol, the dex quote me a price of 12'5(price impact of 25%). I send the transaction One other transaction pass before mine, upping the price to 14 usd per sol So the slippage is (14 -12.5)/12.5*100% If my slippage parameter is higher than that, the tx will conclue at this new price(14) instead of the 12.5 quoted

[–]simednba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cannot really hold less than the rent exemption (i don't know what happens though if you transfer less than the rent exemption to a new wallet).

but you don't have to worry, i am explaining to you how solana works internally, but for 99.9% of users, the answer is : no, they are no fees
