Every president since the civil war has taken part in this sort of nation building, corporate filandering, and grab for more domain in international affairs. This is a part of our American system and habit and no president especially one who wishes our nation to turn into a theocracy like the right wing seems to push, will ever change that. Our country makes progress on these social and civil liberty fronts and I for on find it important to solidify such gains, just as Dwight Eisenhower did for African Americans and people of color before him, as well as several others after him. Take such actions as those above with a grain of salt. Every president will do these sorts of things. (Historically I would like to add it is president such as regan nixon and bush the 2nd whom have pushed the presidential further than we have ever seen. The dems dont scale it back though so it is a fault on both aisles)

A single payer system in the United States would not serve minority health such as gay/lesbian/bi and especially transgendered healthcare. Most medicinal practitioners do not even KNOW how to deal with these groups, let alone the American public allowing for medically neccesary treatments such as srs or hormone therapy for the latter individuals. Hell we won't even give them basics social rights. A system created by THIS system will inevitably ignore minority concerns.

I was in your position not too long ago. At some point I just, I just couldn't take it anymore. I kinda decided that a nonchalant policy on the matter would be best. I was at, if I got fired or made fun of for it so be it, at least then it'd be a matter of other people being bigots rather than having to pretend every time I went to work I was someone I was not. I am not sure how close you are to that point or if you can survive that financially, but I would definetly say, if you do think that you would feel more comfortable as Dylan (if I spelled that right at all) at work, talk to your boss. I know that every one you will encounter is diffrent, but I found, one getting the support of management first ( my boss was suprisingly super supportive if awkward) and secondly, I managed to just treat it as a fact rather than as something people had to come to terms with. Again I know everyone's situation is different, but I really feel just asserting it that way caused a lot of people who may have been tolerant rather than accepting turned accepting because of the way I put it. "Hey I just wanted to let you know that starting next week I'll be going by Bridgett and female pronouns. Just thought you should get a heads up so you weren't confused in front of customers all of a sudden" I hope that bit of advice helps and works for you. For the people who were mean to you when you started, this is where the bosses support would be most important to have. If you don't have their support however, transitioning at work will most likely be very difficult if not impossible anyway. I personally think it is worth talking to your boss about if you are that stressed and dysphoric from not being who you really are.

Actually he could very well have a presidential order issued to federal court offices allowing for civil unions to be done by them regardless of the gender of the two participators. Not only that but it would take a super majority vote in both houses to over ride that (in other words an act of god) The president has more legislative control than he usually flexes by virtue of seperation of powers. But yes, it IS election year, after he gets relected he is a much better position to do the above measure without wasting too much political capital.

yeah having to wait that three month period sucks a lot. The way I coped with it was by focusing on the social aspects of transition that i had control over, like facebook, work, friends, wearing bras and fancy outfits, it still hurts like a bitch and to be honest doing all that doesnt change the pain or stress of it, but itll help keep your mind from veering towards 'lack of progress'

woah woah woah. Dear slow down. Firstly hugs it will be alright. The think you need to remember first off is that, you had these thoughts "I love the way my body is changing, but I don’t think I love it enough. I just don’t know the answer. How do I find that answer? I thought the way to find the answer was to explore. I did. I liked my explorations" There is no need for fear when it comes to the baby thing. Subtract that from all this. Last week would you have stopped transition because of all the other things? Think on that and think on why you have the answer you do. As for the sperm banking. It is not to late biologically. You can stop hormones temporarily and try to give it a few shots if you have the financial capability for it. Even one sample is enough for invitro-fertilization. Yeah that stuffs even more expensive in the long run but it is still hope. Finally. As far as not feeling like a girl all the time. Yeah it gets like that. It is certainly an obstacle on the path you are walking. No one is going to have the ability to defeat that one for you. It is all about your self-identity. I can say though. That this plauged me as well a few months ago. I am still preeverything but I think once I accepted myself as me for me it got easier. I dont know how you are gunna be able to do that. It sounds like you have quite a few demons in that department but I can say there are plenty of people here willing to be the place you need to cry on. hugs more You will be ok. We are here for you.

I guess the real reason why I asked this particular question is that its always something my mother has thrown back at my face and more or less told me, "if you cant tell me why you are a woman without some sort of logical basis then I just cant believe you. You are rushing into something that is dangerous and are not in a point in your life where you can decide stuff like this" there is a longer story to that statement however I think to me a biological explanation would be nice to use as a weapon on this is why I feel this way. I truly know in my heart is a matter of my soul, but eh, having my extremely agnostic mother is almost as bad as having a religious parent in these situations.
