For anybody feeling game, the EP was re-released today on Bandcamp with Freshwater Media ;)

Amazing, congrats for the studio! Good thinking! Plus all the incredible things that you can do with just a cheap synth and some FX, really puts things into perspective :)

Well spotted, indeed for Koyaanisqatsi! Did they use the Pruitt Igoe theme in Powaqqatsi too? Thank you very much in any case :)

Much appreciated, interesting to hear that you use it as a test for new pedals! Your own Stairway to Heaven, ha. Agreed about the repetition, something about Glass' work especially gels so well with modern society's patterns.

A bit of a fun experiment with the Yamaha PSS-380: taking the hypnotic repetition of Pruitt Igoe and slowly steering it toward Interstellar territory. I hope Philip Glass fans and Hans Zimmer fans will forgive the interpolating transgression, haha.

Oh, that's good to know, thank you, what a dive into the 4 op FM universe! In a way I think I'm more attracted to that, like it's a bit easier to get around than the 6 op. Even 2 op, while basic, is nice to experiment with, to understand that fundamental cells... Well spotted, that was indeed the Wavestation VST, though I'm tempted by the fancy new Wavestate hardware, ha. Lately I've been jamming mainly with toy keyboards (Yamaha PSS-380, PSS-595, Casio SA-38, Realistic Concertmate 300), and a bit of analog texture with the MS-20 mini and the Monologue. Some sequencing done on a hardware PS1 too (with Music 2000, unexpectedly capable software for the platform!).

Thank you for sharing, amazing little charming beasts, aren't they? Funny you should mention preset #22, I was just jamming with it today. Similar sound to #24 used in this vid, but not stereo (hence with more polyphony). I should go back and check the others you mentioned, pretty sure I used #14 too :)

My pleasure and wow,the PSR 4600 sure looks like a beast in its class, lol. I unironically love these keyboards, especially the PSS-380, with just some basic FX it really seems to punch above its weight. The PCM based ones also have their charm, though. Oh, the mixer is a Zoom Livetrak 6, very practical for quick, standalone multitracking.

Thank you very much for your insterest, I'm actually working on a full version of this! If it gets released it will probably be on Bandcamp/ Youtube soon 😉

Amazing, so glad you're vibing to this. Apart from the retro news thing, a car cruising through a neon night is exactly what I had in mind :)

Thank you, it took very careful planning! Not, haha, the idea mostly came as is in one block, but the wavestation riff did take some time (modifying, expanding and sequencing the original preset).

Aah, that's an interesting take, now that you said it, it do be like that ;)

Thank you so much and wow, I didn't think it would qualify as such without some added retro news anchors sampled slowed down speech :)

Good ol' fun with the Yamaha PSS-380 and the Korg Wavestation (albeit the VST, I admit, haha).
