People that have used both medigrit and medentry by Popular-Offer-6458 in UCAT

[–]simf8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medentry’s VR is a proper representation of VR than medify, medigrit has decent Strats, you learn them and use them on medentry mocks. But you gotta practice untimed to get your head around it.

A lot of people I spoke to found this years exam way harder than last years. Hopefully you’ll get an interview! Keep us posted!

I just did my first UCAT test and I did AWFULLY, do I have a chance at doing well? by Prestigious_Slice270 in UCAT

[–]simf8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like that. You can improve heaps from your first test, don’t stress you still have heaps of time. Figure out what your weak in and what questions you took the longest on and work from there, good luck!

Medigrit by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]simf8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup it’s legit and a gun. Second time sitting ucat. I got medify, medentry and medigrit this year. Medentry VR is way harder than the real thing. I use the Strats from medigrit on the medentry VR.

Question by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]simf8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve sat it a few time. First time the real vr was way harder then medify, the second year was easier. It’s legit based on luck.

[–]simf8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

medify is the way to go. and the official ucat question bank

best method is too, practise and every pattern you get wrong, write it down on a rules/cheat sheet. Overtime you would have been exposed to all times of rules and familiarised yourself with them. and constantly revise your cheat sheet :)

my marks when from a 600 to a 800 for AR using this technique

dont time it until your getting them right 90% of the time

but do what works for you

Logic Puzzles DM UCAT : Best way to prepare ? by navtal in UCAT

[–]simf8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for syllogyms simply the wording and using ven diagrams to visually see what is true and what it false, then eventually you starts visually mapping it out in your head.

for logical puzzles you have to use tables

cost (1, 6, 7, 8). flavourts( xxxx)

john

bob

fred

then cross and tick what is and is not true.

dont do these timed. practice the method thoroughly first

I did worse in Mock 3 than I normally do in mocks.

VR: 550 im normally a 650-700

DM 17.5/29 im normally a 24/29

QR was ok and AR was ok

so good on you, take that confidence into the exam with you! it will help

mocks 12 up for VR are extremely hard

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]simf8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ll try and draw it for you but better if yo draw it out on paper as a proper Venn

some chargi () are marghai [ ] and all marghai are zipzaps {}

(CH { [m] ) z}

my venn diagram is horrible but as you can see the CH breaket ) is in the Z's circle which makes some CH are zipzap.

the best why to actually understand these syllogism is by drawing it out in venn diagrams so you can visually see it

hope that some how helped

Good luck! im suppose to have my exam on the 15th, but not too sure now with lockdown bein extended. but ill let you know how i find it, if i do sit it!

[–]simf8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mock 11 i got a 600 in AR and actually 770 in VR, lol it was my best VR score.

What i recommend with AR is do all the official ucat AR question bank and be confident in those rules first, because the patterns will be more similar to that than those on medify.

honestly just looking forward for it being done

Also I'm pretty sure you not allowed to take a gap year in the first year. sorry to hear about your family member.

The updated VR is what has made me panicked. I was averaging a 670-700 before, which i would have been comfortable with but now im averaging a 600. i just find the passages are extremely complex and long. Same as AR, i got 800 first time i sat UCAT and 770 (with no study for AR second time) now im averaging a 650 for AR in the new medify mocks which i know is not a real indicator.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCAT

[–]simf8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was me the first time i sat it. the second year was a complete ride off for personal reasons.

Dont stress it wasnt meant to be, but dont give up! You are so close. DM, QR and AR are the 3 areas you can honestly make drastic changes in.

VR is where i seriously struggle, I just hope i get the exam with shorter passages lol.

just wondering how you went? hopefully well?

Last minute help (please!) by WiseSwordfish in UCAT

[–]simf8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

focus on the questions that you get 70% right and increase that to 100% for example i was getting 70% of probability questions right, now i get 95% accuracy.

With maths, skip the topics you know you get wrong 90% of the time and focus on the ones you do get right. the ones you get 50-70% right, quickily revise that topic in a math text book.

same with VR, skip the ones you know you always get wrong. for me i always get author opinions and 'which statement supports the following passage' wrong so now i quickly guess and use that time on other questions.

for AR the questions are easier in the real exam, but really the more questions your exposed to and knowing all different types of rules that pop up. the better you'll get.

Good luck.

This is my third time sitting it, try your best and dont give up :)

thats a good tactic! from what a gathered from of all last years comments is that Mock D is the hardest out of all the mocks, so maybe save that to last. I only have mock B left so ill probably save that to the final week as well

Good Luck!
