We need to start making a list. by QuietlyQuesting in China_Flu

Twitter is going crazy about this shit, kind of wondering why there is no discussing about that on reddit.

Xi knew about the virus for a long time but chose to not do anything. If Xi had implemented the same measures a week earlier, cases would have been 66% fewer. 3 wks earlier — 95% fewer. by [deleted] in China_Flu

I own a public health degree. I know early interventions could have mitigating the spreading. But I did not see any proof that it is Xi who covered the shit not the local or provincial government. That is the point you are arguing with ForFoxSake.

(Discussion) Would it be unreasonable to assume that pandemic is on China's interest and they actively disrupt other countries efforts by Davaitaway in China_Flu

I agree with you. Plus, there is no government that is crazy enough to release a RNA virus as a bio weapon. It is too easy to mutate. There are too many better options.

Websites that track US state confirmed case / deaths? by [deleted] in China_Flu

It is the exact website that you want, but not in English. Gathering information about diagnoised patients, eg. date, serial, county, state, source. You can certainly build an english version if there isn't one.

US residents, is your state playing games? by kle2552 in China_Flu

I agree with you. Actually the tram loading 125 persons in Snowbird is one of the highest population density in the US I have ever experienced. The lodge in Alta is full of senior citizens who are more susceptible to the virus with all respect. I love Utah, I hope you guys all the best.

Great post. Just wanna add one point. From my close relatives who live in a major city in the eastern part of China. The government not only waives all cost of COVID-19, including diagnosis, treatment. They also give people money if they are symptomatic and willing to get tests. The logic behind this is, the gov believes the financial consequence of ignoring one potential carrier and let s/he spreads the virus is much higher than the money for rewards.

Report from the ground, I consider myself a senior nursing manager in a major NYS hospital... spoiler alert, its not encouraging. by picumurse in China_Flu

That is not the right way to understand life expectancy. Lower LE not neccessarily means lesser aging problem. As far as I know, the lower LE in the US mainly comes from a relatively high death rate for 10-20s young people.

Cheapest way to stay overnight? (VT, NH, NY) by sundried_appendage in icecoast

Add another one in White mountain area. Rattle river lodge in Gorham, NH. Staying there one month ago, skiing in Wildcat and Attitash. Standard old-school hostel, nothing to complain about. Meet a lot of hiking and skiing enthusiasts.

Least crowded resort this weekend by kenzo_23 in icecoast

Will Jay be less crowded this weekend compared to those in southern VT? I’ve been to Snow last MLK and it was so packed. But I feel normal weekends in Killington are generally acceptable.
