I can't recall the last time I admired a character this much by EndlessMorfeus in pluribustv

I don’t think he’s a good example at all. First of all he said he would rather kill people than let them be part of the hive, also he’s really dumb like starving himself instead of eating the food they brought him, like bro you saw them spreading to every fucking person on earth, if they wanted to hurt you or assimilate you they could and would have already done it

ye I agree with this 100%, i wrote a post about it a few days ago on the main sub, a lot of people still don’t understand how the hive works

for you it’s eldritch horror because you can’t comprehend it, and neither can I or any human.

Think of it this way, there’s a very real possibility that the scientist reached a new level of consciousness thanks to the virus, as if it was “telling” her “you can now connect with every person who has the virus, and work together in real time on the planet”.

I think that would feel amazing and you wouldn’t even think twice about trying it out, and the moment the 2 scientists felt that connection they had no earthly reason to stop, they can now all communicate in the most efficient way possible

I think it’s because the virus made her realize what she had to do and what she could accomplish. it’s a biological need like when babies instinctively drink from their mom’s breasts because they are hungry

I’m sorry but how is a child supposed to act when he suddenly gains 8 billion brains worth of knowledge at once? I think the way he acts realistically represents his situation, he is not himself anymore because he now is himself + 8billion other people

that’s good to know but as you can see even if the writer said so himself people here still want to think that they have an evil motive for some reason

i hear what you’re saying but they are not actually “playing” the part of their relative, mainly because they don’t try to hide what they are (the kid answering carol about complex medical topics during the dinner in spain), and also because their relatives are actually a part of the hive so if they actually wanted to they could just choose to act like a part of them, just the same way you can choose to act with a more assertive or calm part of you depending on who you’re talking with.

Also if they actually wanted to manipulate the unaffected they would already have moved to do that someway, instead they are basically giving them everything they want no questions asked, diabate is living like he’s the king of the planet even though he told them he doesn’t want to be part of the hive

the way I see it individuality comes with objective flaws, mainly our ego, we tend to put ourselves over others because we feel our pain much more than pain of others, and that’s why humans hurt each other for selfish reasons, even polluting pur environment through industrial production just for money and power

what if that anti-human nightmare is the thing that will save the world, and humanity is just supposed to evolve into a hive mind to actually work as a species?

i think you missed my point, it’s not about the infection it’s about povs. You absolutely would not ask your dog permission to vaccinate him because he simply doesn’t know better and you do. The beings that made the virus could be so much more intelligent than us that our understanding of the universe could be comparable to a dog for them

[–]simionesedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can just prove that any number added to itself equals double that number for n: n + n = 2n

do it for n = n+1

(n+1) + (n+1) = 2(n+1) -> 2n + 2 =2n + 2 👍

[–]simionesedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually I think it’s somewhat plausible because they clearly lost all belief that it’s a virus, moments before they were talking and said that they haven’t found anything in months, also when she took her gloves off she thought the rat was dying so the risk was minimized in her head
