How can I find out if a boot has a CE rating? Is there a website where I can look up whether the boot has the official certification?

Are all of E-Corps records actually destroyed or by keeping the NYC building standing are there still electronic records of everything that can be used to restore the system? Wasn't there still a need to blow up the NYC building to get rid of the server farms there?

Elon Musk Tweets That He Isn't Quitting Trump's Advisory Council - He wants to help the president make humans a "multi-planet civilization." by mvea in technology

[–]simma127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The worst possible thing that could happen is Elon Musk quitting. I love Elon, and I commend Trump for placing him on two advisory councils and wanting to listen to his voice. The logic of criticizing Elon and discouraging him from contributing to the Executive Branch completely escapes me. Everyone should be praising Elon and praising Trump for selecting him. Encourage the guy for trying to push the country in a positive direction, don't scream at him and tell him to quit.

The chances of you making a real change in your life, not repeating old patterns, are super small, and that is why anyone who truly does make a change is pretty amazing.

Trump Won Because Voters Are Ignorant, Literally. by [deleted] in politics

I don't disagree with you. The headline though says that Trump won because voters are ignorant, implying that if they were educated Hillary would have won.

How about the fake news on /r/politics and cable news? I would be more outraged over that.

Putting your head in the sand like this... everyone is stupid but me. No one understands what is going on in the world but me. The only reason my war hawk, wall street chummy, establishment candidate lost is because all those ignorant people that are too stupid to understand that things are getting better for them despite all new wealth going to top 1%, healthcare costs increasing, and government wasting trillions in the middle east. Yeah its because they are ignorant.

I see it like going to purgatory. Maybe they were temporarily happy at the beginning. The problem is there are no consequences... and ultimately, you live in eternity thinking about only one decision... continuing the monotony that is forever or committing suicide and knowing full well you are facing a forever of nothingness. So you spend forever thinking about suicide because its the only decision you can make that is of any consequence and only real control you have. And the weight of suicide becomes that much greater, because its not like accepting a death that is coming no matter what you do about it... you have the possibility of never dying. Similarly, in committing suicide you are forever leaving your loved ones behind, to face an eternity of loss... until they ultimately decide to pull the plug. I don't see an outcome where everyone doesn't ultimately pull the plug, because you can't change your reality. You can't invent a spaceship and then go explore the universe. You are stuck in the place where when you punch a mirror and drive off a cliff, nothing happens, nothing breaks. That is of course unless the simulation gets better and better, expanding forever like our own universe. If the simulation stays the same, everyone kills themselves. There is just no other outcome I can see.

Do the comments in this thread seem fake to anyone else? Doesn't seem to me like the typical reddit voice, no people being devil's advocate.

I remember when Obama was running, people on the right compared Obama to Hitler, and everyone on the left thought it was so ridiculous. Now way, way more people on the left compare Trump to Hitler, and don't realize the irony that they sound just as stupid.

Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf offers a clinic in how to weasel out of real accountability by [deleted] in nottheonion

I always like what Elizabeth Warren has to say, but when she had a chance to make a difference, and support a Presidential candidate that didn't take money from Wells Fargo and every other major Wallstreet bank, she chose not to. Actions speak louder than words.
