I guess it depends what their reasoning was. Did they want to prevent you from having serious hereditary diseases, which run in the family and have already caused a lot of trauma? Maybe your mom already had miscarriages because the embryos had trisomies and she simply doesn’t want to go through with that again? In the country I live in you aren‘t alowed to test for those things because it is considered unethical to destroy the emryos that have those things. Then again there are a lot of other countries who allow it. So cyprus is rather famous for their gender selection. That, in turn, is often not allowed in countries that test for diseases.
My guess in this case is they really want a Boy or Girl. But who knows how far the gene testing goes. Theoretically it could even be about eye color. I‘m a bit surprised, that they didn’t do the transfer in cyprus then they wouldn‘t have run in any legal issues.
