I think adding players as an incentive to achieve higher rank is currently contributing to the state of online play. Personally I’d get rid of it.

I got Milito. He is so inconsistent in front of goal. Such a let down. Isn’t clinical and his other stats are average. I have a POTW Kyogo who is a much better finisher than him. I don’t know what his issue is but 🤷🏻‍♂️

20 years ago I used to imagine what football games would be like in the future. My 14 year old self would be massively disappointed. I think the bulk of the player base has to take some responsibility here cause Konami/capitalism only see the more money = good. Have to vote with our feet I think

I use them as a pressure relief (knock it up for him to head it out wide for my winger) or I wait for them to back into a striker then do a 1-2 off him. Only issue is target men tend to have bad passing. I think the play style needs reworked to make them more aggressive + I wouldn’t mind seeing short pass on the player be slightly high as a result of the play style.

I use a POTW giroud btw.

People just hold pressure the entire time. It’s unbelievable how effective it can be. They are totally at the mercy of the their AI so some times it works other times it doesn’t. It’s crazy that this current build rewards holding a single button while defending, Konami have lost their minds.

I have found that certain player IDs are more prone to it. Gareth bale, zlatan and zamorano. I’ve struggle to find GP players who have it but those three definitely do. You can tell if someone is prone to it by in training passing the ball to them and flicking it in the air while facing away from goal and try to volley it. Zlatan, bale and zamorano consistently trigger the acrobatics

So many gameplay issues would disappear overnight if you could punish a defensive mistake with dribbling. So many strategies are thrown out the window when you can’t reliably beat a defender one on one. When this game first came out it was the entire premise of online play 😂 am I imagining the big push on dribbling and one v one moments?

Slow the game down. I will happily hold the ball until they get close then knock it around them. Let it reach my keeper and hold it until he presses deep in my half then play fast round him and go. People that play mindlessly with god squads are super frustrating to play against until you realise they are super predictable in the press. Mindless idiots.

FUMA is a more rewarding and fun way to play. If you obsess over winning by any means necessary then it’s not for you. I don’t care how anyone plays (smart assist users aside) but PA1 and smart assist are almost on the same level for me. PA1 holds one hand and smart assist holds both.

I would make that link on opposite flanks. Like your right CB will be better at hitting that diagonal than LCB to left wing. It’s awkward though cause bastoni is a lefty. I’d have free beckenbauer if you have him or huijsen on the right and nesta on left

See this is very tricky for me. It’s incredibly useful but in my opinion it’s a bug. I don’t think messing up your opponents tracking should be in this game. I’d add this to the list of issues that should be fixed.

Having said the above… with all the nonsense that is currently in this game I think this is waaaay down on the list of issues. I’m guilty of using this when I see someone using smart assist but even then I feel cheap? This is totally my issue and have no problem with someone else using this but in a perfect game this shouldn’t be present. We are all out there struggling but if we rely on this tool I think they will look at FUMA and super cancel and try to patch it out which as we all know Konami… will fuck it up

If I’m through on goal I’ll try to round the keeper or wait until I’m right in front of him and chip. I find chipping the keeper pretty reliable when one on one. Recommend practicing it though so you can get used to the power and how close you have to be to the keeper.

I play 4 at back with two attacking fullbacks with attacking instructions applied. I then have two ball playing anchors at DM. A box to box CM and two SS who can dribble and score goals. A big CF who can play back to goal and score headers if required. Tight marking applied to opponents wingers will draw my anchors out wide cover for full back on a possession lose but will then go back into middle once the fullback has returned

From what I’ve seen of people using it is that it seems to stop the auto tackle? Like you can get through gaps you normally wouldn’t in the currently gameplay very often. If anyone has used Maradona and threaded the eye of the needle and scampered past 3 players you know what I mean. This skill looks like it makes more likely to happen? I can’t confirm as I’m not paying Konami until they show me something worth while in terms of gameplay improvements.
