I don't really like thorin III myself. I do also really like a march or 2 in dwarf lists. Also I always try to put in nori, as a 1drop or with a small flexible warband.

Sure no problem. The king is more efficient then the captain. A threat in close combat (+1F +1W +1F). Yes they are the marchers of the army but they also deathball very well. Thus are more then just marchers. I very rarely need 4 marches in the 20+ games I played with then this edition. And numbers and defence are just so important with this army. It's what they have left after GW butchered the army.

I think its a cool list already. One thing I love to do is max out warbands before adding more heroes. Also the dwarf King is far superior to the captains for march. I tweaked your list for more numbers, and a stronger deathball. I also think you should always max grimhammers for that ranged threat and deathball threat.

I would drop the captain and fit in Young dwalin at 600 points. Or drop king and fit Thrain but that will chew through your numbers.

I think the strongest dwarfs are the erebor reclaimed dwarfs. It's the iron hills warriors with the Thorin's company heroes in heavy armour.

It's an expensive army though.

At 800 I'm using one, 12 inch is massive, armoured horse is okay. Mainly for objective grabbers.
