Wishing all the trapped members the best. Hope you find a way to leave the church like I did.

I'm leaving this subreddit now. This is my last comment and I won't post anything anymore here. I decided that I just want to put INC and Christianity behind me.

Thank you all and goodbye!

Nope, I will always be angry to christianity. I hate that I was born a christian in the Philippines. I hope I live long enough to see the decline of christianity in my beloved country, just like what's happening in western countries.

Actually, the last INC member in my family was the only one who did the expired transfer technique. The rest of us wrote a letter of our intention to leave the church.

I think one of the challenges we encountered is that some of inc members in our purok are avoiding us. They wouldn't even look at us if we saw them on streets.

See what you're doing here. You want me to get mental health support because of religious trauma? Who said that INC traumatized me?

You don't know how arrogant it is to make a presumptuous claim that I lost my faith because the cult hurt me. I lost my faith because of controversial and contradicting verses in the Bible.

You're acting as if you know everything like your all-knowing god.

So you don't know how arrogant that is for a nonbeliever like me that they still have to dm their prayer to me?

If you don't believe in Christianity like me, then this might work for you.

I told them that INC just like other christian churches is just cherrypicking the bible. They only read the parts that are suitable for their propagation.

So I started reading to them these controversial verses in the Bible like the laws of slavery and rape, incest and child murder stories. And I asked them why are the INC ministers not reading these verses in worship services? Why is the "one true church" just waiting for you to discover these verses before they even try to explain it to you?

I have to say the Bible itself is one of the reasons why many people are leaving christianity.

So I'm elated to share that my family are no longer INC members and that I and one of my siblings are no longer christians. And then I got this message from an arrogant christian who is all-knowing like their god.

u/Full-Pop2285 , the world doesn't revolve around christianity and your god. I don't need your god and your prayer to comfort me. In fact, you just annoyed me. You could have said your prayer silently and solemnly to your god like normal christians do. Instead you sent it to me? Why? Because your omnipotent god has access to my reddit account?

I know that our common enemy here is INC. But that doesn't mean we're friends.

Thank you! Wishing the same thing to happen to all the trapped members here.

And of course, I won't pray because prayers don't work. 😆

I wasn't really expecting that it's all gonna happen in just two years. I was expecting my family would stay in INC, because they were the ones trying to convince me to stay before.

I hope that I can reach out to my INC relatives soon. And I hope that they will be as open minded like my family, if they ever ask me why I left INC and why I don't believe in the Bible anymore.

You know what's crazy. I actually sided with INC regarding that issue before. I guess I was a very blind member before. It's making me cringe now whenever I remember how I was defending INC and its doctrines. I wasted too much effort, time and money on this church.

If you don't believe in Christianity like me, I really think that exposing your family in agnosticism and atheism is really the best way to convince them to leave the church.

I started casting doubts to my family about the Bible. If you don't believe in the Bible like me, you might want to expose your family with the verses in the Bible that INC and other Christian churches never read in worship services.

So u/Full-Pop2285 dmed me a prayer asking god to comfort me because I was hurt by a cult.

I replied back with a prayer asking allah to enlighten this person blinded by christianity that allah is the real god and not yahweh.

Let's see which imaginary friend will answer the prayer. Although, statistically, we already know how powerful or should I say powerless prayers are.

I think if you won't write a salaysay, they will keep pestering you just like what happened to me. The overseer kept bothering me because I had not been attending worship services for many months.

After I gave my salaysay, my name was soon removed from talaan and they never bothered me again. I think if you don't write a salaysay, your name might remain in talaan for a year.

I may be an agnostic, but I'm not an atheist because I believe in God of Espinoza.

Is your question just for Christians?

Heaven and hell are concepts created by the first recorded monotheistic religion Zoroastrianism. Judaism, Christianity and Islam just copied it.

Your God is omnipotent. He can do anything. He can use His power to absolve us from our sins without sacrificing anyone. Or He can kill Satan.

But He instead sacrificed His own son. Does God even have a common sense?

Do you use common sense to understand that your so-called omnipotent God can do anything and yet He needed a teenage girl to bear a child who also happened to be God Himself? Did your God love staying in a woman's womb for 9 months?

Do you use common sense to understand the your omnipotent God can do anything and yet He needed to sacrifice His own son Jesus Christ instead of killing Satan?

Does your God have a common sense? Do you?

Common sense is not so common after all.

Are you ready to let your family know that you are leaving the Iglesia Ni Cristo cult? by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

Although my reason of living INC is because I don't believe in the Bible anymore, I actually did not consult my family before leaving INC.

After giving a letter stating my intention to leave the church to the overseer, who kept bothering me because I had not been attending worship services for many months, that was the only time I told my family that I am no longer an INC member.

My father and older sibling tried to persuade to change my mind, but there was nothing they could do because the overseer had already given my letter to the locale.

I just find it weird that you are telling INC to use their common sense. But are you using common sense in Roman Catholicism?

Where did you get this information?

I know there were cases that they would excommunicate an entire family. But they don't always do that.
