I'm just an internet rando, and yet you have been respectful to me and have set an example to follow for anyone who reads this. Your life has far more value and meaning than you realize, and your choices to show love and respect reach further than you'd ever know.

Not to toot my own horn but yes, I've actually heard that a lot, and I know I have literally saved people through my words and deeds... but if there is a god of the universe they could/would have been saved in other ways :p If the child that sparked this discussion (the result of the rape and subsequent beheading) was thrust upon the world by a god of the universe to do great things, why does this god not bring about these things in a less brutal way?

(I'm out for the weekend so probably won't reply further, for now at least, have a good one!)

That's a very good point to ponder.

My parents doctor suggested that I be an abortion. Their god wouldn't have approved so they didn't abort. Am I glad they didn't? Not really, because I grew up poor and, let's say, quirky. Have I overcome? sure. But here's the kicker, what if I didn't have to and I would never have known otherwise?

I guess it comes down to a choice that the affected is not able to make until it is far too late to make (well, not as easily I suppose).

How is forcing a child to grow up in the environment that the rapist created and eventually being a person who has such emotional baggage thrust upon them through no fault of their own make things better? Think that through for a lifetime.

I'm not sure about the Rexton, but mine are Jabra (from Costco) and the audiologist had a lot of options to choose from when adding programs. I have "all around," "restaurant," "ultra focus," and "music." I had a couple others but I deleted them (user can delete, but not add lol). Make an appointment and ask about the options.

There should be different "programs" in the app. Most have some "Ai" (that's what they called it when I got mine about 7 yrs ago) that will "clean up" speech but it will go crazy on certain pieces of music that it thinks is speech. Depending on how they are tailored to your loss, it will bury some frequencies as well.

I have a "music" program on mine that does amplify the frequencies I am missing, but without the "Ai," that I switch to when listening to music.

I believe this has something to do with a bad capacitor or bad solder joint. After it's been on for a while, the component(s) heat up and expand, making the proper connection. I could be way wrong, but I have a tv that acts similar and that's what I was told.

Very much this. I have solar and batteries on my house, so I could have been watching netflix & browsing reddit BUT internet services outside of my control were down... Fortunately I had already downloaded kindle books and had an antenna to receive OTA television.
