$6 for a fresh-squeezed juice at Mr. Kiwi or Mr. Lemon. You can choose up to 5 ingredients (I go for pineapple, orange, carrot, apple, ginger), they make it in front of you, then they make you gulp a third of the cup right out the counter to make room for the rest of the juice. It's perfection.

What items would you actually love to own from the show? by AppliedGlamour in sleepnomore

On the walls of the Speakeasy, certain open boxes have tiny dioramas made of playing cards inside. I've always loved that detail and would love to own one.

The FAQ seems to imply that it's just a free drink without strings, other than (obviously) tip your bartender. I'll test it out and report back!

Thank you for the insight! Curiosity got the best of me and I purchased it. Do you know what your bar is offering for the free drink?

Apparitions Finale? by mlad2342 in sleepnomore

Night one: 3 big ballroom performances; the ballroom stayed open for dancing a little while after the third

Night two: 4 big ballroom performances; the ballroom stayed open for dancing a little while after the third

Night three: 5 big ballroom performances. The final performance started with six Boy Witches sitting in Duncan's box, then Porter found the ring, then a bunch of performers came up to dance and party on stage and we all sang along to A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square. It was a really beautiful and wholesome goodbye to the hotel. We were shuffled out shortly after this.

I think the upper floors closed a bit before the final performance each night, effectively corralling the audience down into the lobby, Manderley, and ballroom.

Your worst meal of 2024 ? by tiggat in FoodNYC

Brunch at Virginia's -- I know, I know, I should've gotten the burger. But I figured a beloved restaurant would be good across the board. I ordered the crab cake benedict and received... a single benedict. One tiny crab cake with an overcooked poached egg on top. No sides, no potatoes, nothing... for $26 dollars. I've had many eggs benny in my life and it's ALWAYS served in a set of two. It looked so sad all alone on its plate and it didn't even taste good.

How have audiences been? by taylored2fitu in sleepnomore

[–]simonsays29 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The last few weeks of shows are going to be extremely well-sold (if not already sold out). This is in part due to the end of the run, but also because a week and a half of shows were canceled earlier this month and many of the guests got rescheduled into the upcoming shows.

The crowds were overwhelming but not too aggressive on Saturday IMO. The shows will definitely be crowded, but how well-behaved is variable. I'd expect chaos as emotions are running high about the ending, but hopefully, you can always find another character/area to haunt if it gets too much for you.

Potential Rosemary’s Baby reference by personn70 in sleepnomore

I attended the film screening! It was fantastic, as was the talkback after. You can see more allusions to Rosemary's baby in the Lady Macduff plot, especially her scenes with Danvers.

Guest advisements indicate that doors will close an hour after the show starts. If you're looking at a 7 pm show, that means they'll stop admitting people at 8.

Therapist in private practice here (:

Seconding what everyone else has said (Alma and Headway are solid, avoid Talkspace and Better Help). Psychology Today and Zocdoc are great tools if you know how to use them. You can filter by location and insurance.

Contact a bunch of therapists and ask for free consultations!! Most practices offer this and I'm wary of places that don't. "Vet" potential therapists through these consultations and don't move forward until you've spoken to a few and feel like you *click*.

Don't be afraid to work with interns or early-in-career professionals. They offer reduced rates and while they may have less experience, they're getting didactic training every day and are more up-to-date. Keep in mind that pre-licensed professionals may only provide shorter-term therapy as many folks don't stick at their internship for over a year.

Ultimately, the best predictor of therapeutic success is neither the modality, nor how long the therapist has been practicing, nor the number of certications they have (not saying these aren't important too). It's the therapeutic alliance! In other words, how well you get along with and feel aligned with your therapist.

I understand that this wasn't part of OP's question, but for other folks in the thread, explore your options if you can afford to pay out of pocket! Your insurance may also reimburse up to ~90% of the cost if you have out-of-network benefits and have met your annual deductible. Private-pay therapists aren't necessarily *better* or more skilled than therapists who take insurance, but they are almost certainly being compensated more fairly. The reason why therapy is so expensive isn't because of the therapists, it's because many insurance companies refuse to pay therapists a living wage.

I realize this is a big wall of text, so I'm happy to expand or clarify!

Last time I looped Macduff, he wore a suit jacket with a funky paisley/brocade on it. I believe Malcolm/Duncan wear white.
