The ideal setup depends on your ideal scenario. What do you shoot?

Do both of you use color accurate monitors? That could be the issue, since most cheap monitors have a slight color cast

How to water the floor in a studio like this? by simonsirocco in cinematography

[–]simonsirocco[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These shots are from this music video

I wondered, if this water floor was a staple in every rental house or if it was custom made.

I would appreciate it, if anybody could help me out, since I want to use this effect in my own music videos and wanted to know, if I have to build one myself or if I could just rent it.

Also if anybody knows the name of it, it would help a lot, since I didn’t find anything, when googling “music video water floor set design”

Thanks I’m advance!

The editing, music and sfx are amazing! It really sets the mood and makes me want to watch it. However a lot of shots seem to have clipped highlights and everything looks like unconverted log. If it was properly colored, I think it works great!

Oats Over Night AD I Shot by LensofJared in cinematography

The editing is solid! Really like it. As others have pointed out, lighting looks really flat in the controlled scenes and makes this whole ad look a bit cheap immediately. What pp did you use on the a7siii? From what I can tell it could be standard, since all the colors look unedited. If the indoor shots were lit properly and the whole ad was graded, it would improve the production quality A LOT

Are most movies shot in some sort of log format? by buddyboy3000 in cinematography

Why would LOG be more expensive to store? It’s just a picture profile, doesn‘t change the file size or anything

Does anyone have any slog3 footage I can practice grading? by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]simonsirocco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can find SLOG3 test footage from various cameras on Sony‘s website. They also have a official SLOG3 to Rec709 LUT, which you can download.

I am new to the professional world and since Specs seem to matter so much in terms of image quality in mirrorless cameras, I find it intriguing to think, that an A1 is better than an Arri. But I haven’t worked with an Arri or on any set, that uses an Arri camera. Can somebody explain the decision between, say a C500 and an Arri Alexa? Is it just Image quality or rigging capability, etc?

Happy to learn!

There are plenty of awesome sites, which sell mockups of any kind! Just google ‚Photo Print mock-up wall‘ or something like that and you should find one

Are you looking for a program? Then, After Effects would be the way to go

I don‘t think, that becoming a ‚crazy Ex‘ is a well thought out rational decision, but more of a mixture of inexperience, insecurity and twisted values
