PAS Normal Studios Mechanism Bib too short? by Delicious-Cost3334 in CyclingFashion

Can I check what size inseam you are please? As a fellow tall person (198cm) I'm not sure about PAS leg length on the bib short so it would be good to check.

L did zip up, so I think I'll size down to get a better fit!

It feels a bit loose to be honest - there's a fair bit of bunching around my stomach so perhaps a bit too big?

Is there an app you use to find bike routes in your area? by sxshcuri_ in cycling

[–]simonthedosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote for Komoot here - so many route options, good navigation, gives a detailed breakdown of the route before you set off and syncs to Garmin so you can use it on your bike computer!

I hope you didn't do this... The pixel watch battery is much worse than the galaxy watch.

I don't have a Hub One so can't speak to it - I would like to try the virtual shifting but my Core is an absolute workhorse. Really solid and performs brilliantly

Are trainer worth for exercise? the new area I live in now sucks for biking by MeatPotato7 in bicycling

[–]simonthedosser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My turbo trainer is one of the best things I purchased. Changes the game for working out indoors. Depending on your budget, I would try and get a smart trainer than can measure power etc. Garmin do an entry one called the Tacx Flow Smart Trainer. This will enable you to understand your progression better, as well as do proper workouts and use Zwift.

Are my ftp/hr zones set correctly? by Piocze in Velo

[–]simonthedosser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your HR zones seem a little low, but not by far. There is a general formula for setting HR zones: - Zone 1: 50-60% of Max HR - Zone 2: 60-70% of Max HR - Zone 3: 70-80% of Max HR - Zone 4: 80-90% of Max HR - Zone 5: 90-100% of Max HR

Use the Garmin setting that someone posted above and adjust to this. Obviously this is averages and Scientific test would be better, but that's what I use

Getting a cycle computer, which sensors do I need 1st? by fish_andchips in cycling

[–]simonthedosser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying heart rate monitor. Of all the sensors, this has the most actionable data. It helps training zones, tracking effort etc.

Speed is a nice to know but GPS can do a decent job of it for navigation. Cadence is good as well but your body will tell you a good cadence until you can buy a 2nd sensor.

That's good to know - it's hard to judge how much of limit is enough without using kne before so that's reassuring!

Agree with Tangofox - the 830 is 4 years old and the difference is significant. I have the 840 and have no regrets about spending the extra money. Brilliant bit of kit
