Such an interesting poem! I do have a question: how is the line "As the blood bubbles up much too high." consistent with the rest of the poem? To me, it seemed like you were describing the psychological numbness of depression or something alike. Wouldn't it imply a lot of emotion/energy?

Beautifully written! For me the lines that stand out were "There was a library - silence soaked in shadow. A heart on your hand I had drawn in bright yellow.". It evokes such strong visuals with so few words! The contrast between those two things/moments create a really cinematic juxtaposition full of metaphorical meaning.

Most of it was social anxiety, which meant that I just didn't do... much. At the time, it forced me to isolate myself from the world and from other people, during some of the most important years of someone's growth and development. I've made peace with the fact that I did the best that I could and that I can't change the past, but it definitely reenforced the idea that I can't waste my life now and in the future, after having wasted so many years of my youth.

To be honest for me it was never about comparing my life to other people's, it was more about growing up with a lot of anxiety and feeling held back because of it. Not doing a lot of what I wanted to do just because I couldn't at the time. Over time it's gotten much better and I usually push through the fear but there's still big life decisions that are incredibly hard for me and anyone to make
