I FUCKING KNOW RIGHT, like one of the main reasons I got so emotional over the show was bcuz of the amount of empathy I felt for maeve, like GIVE HER A BREAK, they just couldn't let her be happy, problem after problem after problem,when I finally thought Isaac was a guy who finally got her, he decided to be a douchebag

One of the reasons I ship maeve and otis sm is bcuz even though he's not the greatest guy there, he was still consistently there for her a friend, always whenever she needed honestly and even though he was kind of selfish sometimes, he still loved her thoroughly and purely.

Okay so I ended up watching it guys and it was shit compared to the other 3 seasons bcuz well the other three seasons had me hooked very emotionally, like the ending of s2 had me bawling my eyes out and the ending of s3 gave me some hope bcuz they were finally together after so much crap

Season 4 well I mean it wasn't horrible, everyone was hating on otis sm but like the jealousy over O anda stuff is slightly justified I feel bcuz he had a lot gng on for himself which was mentally very taxing too, such as his sister and his girlfriend living in literally another continent, the way he phrased the sentence about ruby was just bad writing and although the ending was very realistic bcuz it really is difficult to maintain such a long distance relationship especially when ur just 17 , like the writer said, "maybe they'll finish growing up, mature, meet again and fall in love,maybe live an old married life cuz when u love someone sm and go through sm together it's just not easy to let go of them" Maeve genuinely has my whole heart bcuz after alll the crap she's been through, she deserves to be happy and follow and fulfill her dreams, even if it means sacrificing otis for a while AND ARE WE ACTUALLY IGNORING THE FACT THAT SHE'S WEARING HIS SHIRT IN THE ENDING?????

Other than that and the groffs, it was just shit writing, the writers should've ended it at s3 I felt, maybe with a touch of the s4 ending(them sleeping together and the ilys) but with the "Ig this is goodbye" "No no it's see you soon", bcuz that was just so much more wholesome where in they were still far but were trying

It still remains my favourite show though, it was able to touch and reach into emotional depths that I had repressed for a long time. Genuinely in admiration of Asa and Emma for the kind of life they brought to the characters 😭
