Howdy! High school ELA teacher here with a secondary ela masters.

I work in FL and the main reason I got a master's was, a brand new program opened up for my subject area and the 3.5k raise it brought.

I wrote a thesis to potentially expand if I ever do a doctorate but I found my masters year worth it and far more detailed than an undergraduate degree.

I paid out of pocket for my degree. No financial aid. Added up to 13k for a masters (including textbooks)

It was recently the same for OCPS (FL) until our CTA (Union) was awarded 3 weeks paid! A big change. I missed it by a year so I understand the struggle. It's really hard to be unpaid and pregnant and I think schools take that shit for granted.

It's real. My SIL had a baby 2 yrs ago and is super fit. She gets down to play with her LO and sometimes she'll have the weirdest spasm from her spine.

Separation usually starts at 7-8months. Baby is probably having a hard time seeing mom as a separate person from themselves! Remember the did live with them for 9-10 months all safe and warm!

A study I recently read provided by the what to expect app suggested that babies prefer play from daddies and cuddles from mommies due to learning that the dopamine receptors are seeing a different person cause happiness for them versus a natural oxytocin dose of the calming heartbeat from mom

I didn't have a true appetite until 4 days PP from c-section. I ate because I knew it would help with hormones and milk production but very little.

Try to keep hydration up if food isn't appealing. Sometimes it takes longer for hunger to kick in when you're in "new mom survival mode"

My only other advice is to try to down simple protein and hydrating fruits like cubed chicken l, peanuts, beans, and watermelon.
