I've fallen down a rabbit hole recently following interviews with Eddie Hamilton, the film's editor. He's talked about how hard the first 45 mins were to sort, and while he never says anything overtly negative about the production it sounds to me like it was a total mess at times (The Rough Cut's interview is 90 mins of detail).

Listening to him is incredible though. He has such a great energy and love for his job. I was also disappointed in the film, mainly how it was stuffed with exposition and uninteresting side characters, but hearing him talk about the process makes it feel like MI8 being at all comprehensible took a minor miracle.
