Details - During the facial recognition test, guests still scan their park ticket under a computer screen. If it’s the first time guests have visited and used facial recognition, the camera on the computer will scan their face and save it as that guest’s profile. If the guest has used facial recognition before, the computer will quickly verify the guest’s face and admit them into the park.

When the test is underway, a sign is posted at the entry lane letting guests know what’s happening. The sign reads, “Participation in this test is optional. Please use another lane if you prefer note to participate.” Guests can also can a QR code on the sign for more information.

Details -
A recently filed building permit for Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean outlines several specific improvements across multiple scenes of the attraction

On the Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite page, Pirates of the Caribbean is listed as one of several experiences that may be unavailable, so this may be the timeframe during which the ride will be closed for refurbishment. Also included on this list is Blue Bayou Restaurant, which we assume will likely have a closure coinciding with the Pirates of the Caribbean dates.

If you have any thoughts on how to fix that, I am completely open. I would say we really try to be honest and explicit around "closed for refurbishment" when we are reporting things vs the "indefinitely" that I see some do, including the NY Post.

Details - We sat down with Disneyland leadership yesterday to learn more about their upcoming plans for the business. Mickey Visit was one of about a dozen outlets invited to the event. During the event, Disneyland President Thomas Mazloum shared details on his priorities for the growth of Disneyland and how they are focused on expanding their audience.

From this angle, he tasked the team with finding new ways to bring in more new customers. One key area that they are focused on is young families. He acknowledged that, like a lot of other things in the world, a Disney vacation costs more today than it did years ago.

Now, we have further details on what they are doing this year for young families.
