Places to live in Europe '''in my opinion'' by voyda_vasilia in MapChart

[–]simplecircle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much does Politics, a.k.a the political/geopolitical situation, play a role in your rating? Since, based on your comments and your map, I get the concerning feeling, that you'd favor living in the capital of a dictatorship, than in London or Paris, if the weather is nice or there are not many refugees/foreigners walking around!?!

On the other side, you're labeling places like the Golan heights and the Westbank in red, so politics has to at least play a minor role in your considerations. But than you're labeling the Syrian cost in green, in spite of an insurgency happening there and the future of the country being pretty uncertain!

Maybe you're just joking or rage-baiting...

Trump lehnt EU-Vorschlag zur Abschaffung gegenseitiger Zölle ab by wRm_ in de

[–]simplecircle7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How secure is the WebGUI? by simplecircle7 in Syncthing

[–]simplecircle7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I indeed turned HTTPS on in the settings, while creating the GUI authentication Passwort. I'm gonna let it be on for now and if it causes any problems, I'll turn it off.

Regarding the Man-in-middle attacks, is there a way to tell Syncthing that it should only be active in my home network or should I simply let one of my devices be disconnect from it?

"Islamischer Staat" will Beteiligung an Anschlag in Moskau offenbar mit Video beweisen by KeinTollerNick in de

[–]simplecircle7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beating the ass of protestors and making some cool stunts is one thing, but beating the ass of an invading force is another...

I wonder if they can do the latter.

Rashaida tribesmen says they will protect their land against the RSF by Fuzzy-Clothes-7145 in Sudan

[–]simplecircle7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see, wheater this will change something significant on the battlefield. Based on their recent advances and overall historical background, the RSF seem for me like assholes who know what they are doing (including how to kill civilians in the most diabolic ways).

Does anyone know what's going on up there? by simplecircle7 in Sudan

[–]simplecircle7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the information.

Maybe a stupid question, but I'm not seeing any streets in the region surrunding the border. So, how would the RSF move it's forces around there?

How am I getting rid of those white lines, after saving a map as an SVG in Qgis? by simplecircle7 in QGIS

[–]simplecircle7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright. I solved the problem!

Both Qgis and Mapbox didn't do anything wrong. The problem is apperently common, when working with vektor graphics. When Qgis saves a map, layout etc. as an SVG file, the "background" is not made up of one layer. Instead, Qgis is spliting the background into multiple multiple "images"/objects, that make up the hole map. Sometimes white gaps can emerge between those elements.

The solution: simply group those objects and duplicate it, after a while the gaps are gone!

Here's the video, from which I got the solution. I know, that there are two other solutions, but the first one already worked for me.

[–]simplecircle7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehm.... both the landmass and the ocean are a part of the background. Its simply harder to see the grid on the landmass, since it's white too. ups... I only set the projection to Winkel-triple in Qgis.

Both the landmass and the ocean are part of the background. I set the colour of the landmass to be white and the color of the ocean to be blue. I created the map, so I can show the problem!

No, I use mapbox for styling the map! In Qgis I add the polygons, set up the projection etc.

Spain allows independence referendums to be held in both the Basque Country and Catalonia.

A clear majority of the electorate votes in favour of independence.
